Every other forum i go on has this thread, so i thought id start it here. And since over 48 Million PS2 were sold, and still are being sold. Its likely that everyone has one.

This right here is why I wish there were a good, reliable PS2 emulator.
I’m a game design student and STILL haven’t been able to play either Shadow of the Collosus or Ico.
PSX2 is the best you’ll find, but it’s still pretty meh. You need a fucking HARDCORE computer to run it well.
If that’s the one I’m thinking of, it froze up trying to play the opening to Ico.

Shadow of the Colossus is still kinda laggy, fully playable though and fraps shows 60FPS.
The thing I love most about pcsx2 is upscaling, if you change the resolution in the video plugin, it works like with PC games so you get much better picture (like true HD 1080p) with the emulator at the expense of some 2d textures being more stretched.
Well, I have a Core i5-750, 8 GB RAM, and a GeForce 9800 GT, and I can run God of War at like 20 fps.

I’m kinda in the same boat as katana, minus me having dev skills. But the good news (if you have a PS3) is that Sony is going to remaster shadow & Ico in 1080p & have trophies (inner trophy whore rejoices). Soo this may turn out to be the cheaper option once released if you don’t own a hardcore rig.

Man, I miss those times.
Awesome game. Only ever played it while renting it from Blockbuster, but was able to beat it in that time (5 days? I forget). Regardless, I wish someone would come out with a new Predator game like this one.

That’s not because your comp isn’t powerful enough, that’s because it’s still not fully supported.
For example, SSX 1 is still very laggy on my comp, but SSX 3 plays like a charm.

Gran Turismo 4 lags on my PC, but that’s because it’s widely regarded to be one of the hardest PS2 fgames to emulate.
There are a TON that run at full speed
