Diablo’s Tristram Theme is awesome, I guess I’d call that the theme for Diablo

Awesome game, I wanna play it again now

Tristram theme is the reason I still play Diablo

It better be returning in D3

Im sure it will be. In D2 you could find D1 songs in different locations.

By the way, I almost forgot about THIS:

C&C Red Alert 2 - Main Theme (Hell March)

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgTchH6OJw4

Did I say something about Max Payne Ragnarok theme? Fuck that.

Dune. Not Dune2. Not Dune2000. Not Emperor. Just Dune. (Guess im getting old … or did anybody else here play this game?)
main theme
(Its a polished version with some strange voices which dont belong there)

And of course: Final Fantasy VIII
intro
eyes on me - piano version

Diablo, as mentioned before

C&C: red alert with its hell march

Edit: Forgot monkey island:
main theme

And another edit: forgot Doom! Everytime i hear this, i want to grab a gun and shoot everything around me … Perhaps i shouldnt have played it when i was a child. Here in germany you have to be 18 to play it …
E1M1

Diablo 1 - Catacombs

:fffuuu:

Atmosphere in that game kicked so much ass, that I never even wanted to play Diablo 2.

I mean, D2 was really good, but D1 was one of those horrifying games that you don’t get the same feeling from playing anything else. I always go back to it.

Technically, wouldn’t this be the “theme”? Diablo 1 Menu Theme

Tristram is more memorable though so…

I feel you lack the necessary enthusiasm that should accompany such a truth.

/\ Idk, i kinda get annoyed at morrowind’s theme now. That could be though because when I played it I never bothered to add more music so I heard it constantly throughout the game every 3 minutes.

This, however, I’m not tired of:

I know exactly what you mean. But thats not all. It kills the whole genre for me. Playing these click-everything-to-death RPGs is always disappointing compared to diablo.
This music gives you the feeling of beeing in a place with no hope, everything seems damned and you are alone in this unbeatable hell.
This seems a little bit neglected in modern games: music changes with the actual setting, emphasizes the situation… but it seems forbidden to bring music which is perceived by the player. Also most themes are orchestrated, which is impressive but does not always help the purpose.

Great one, on that note I’ll add in

TES IV: Oblivion - Wings of Kynareth

Duke Nukem 3D, because for some reason the Midi version of Grabbag still sounds as awesome fifteen years later

Donkey Kong Country for the SNES

Super Meat Boy

Super Mario World

Pokemon Blue and Red versions

Super Mario Bowser theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7ICiMjniVM

It’s probably only epic because it’s on a pipe organ. That thing would make the ‘Today’ show theme sound like a death march.

Super Mario Bowser Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7ICiMjniVM

It’s probably only cool on that pipe organ. That thing could make the ‘Today’ show theme sound like a death march.

8-Bit Ninja Gaiden Theme

Speaking of 8-bit themes, Goonies II and the Ducktales Moon Theme.

Duke Nukem Theme, Megadeth version:

Bad. Ass.

Always loved the theme for Indigo Prophecy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyYseORkNQk kind of haunting.
