Look, do we really need another Mario Soccer game?
Or another Mario V. Sonic at the Olympics? (when Sonic IS the fastest thing alive?)
Or Mario Baseball… Basketball?
What about Dr. Mario? Can you really expand on dropping colors on a screen? (sadly yes…)

Jeeze, Mario has almost literally been done to death, If it wasn’t for the new Wii side scroller I’d have given up on him, I hated Galaxy, it was so boring compared to Sunshine and 64.

Besides, what about their other characters that are easily flagship but haven’t been exploited? Link? Samus? Fox? The classic Pokemon?

Uhh, never mind that last one…

Sony has platformers, shooters, action, adventure, death, stealth, and racing, all under different titles that are easily flagship.

It occurs to me that this same over-repetitive strategy of marketing could have easily been applied to something like metal gear solid. If different people had been in charge, we may have seen Solid Snake Baseball or Solid Kart or Metal Golf Solid.

Playstation has only ever been marketing. It was the first console that was ‘cool’ to own.

In my opinion it has a complete lack of any interesting games. It feels so focus tested and marketed it’s horrible. Same goes for Xbox and Nintendo though. I miss Sega and their often stupid but at least interesting ideas.

Its all how you use the engine. Some people have no clue and they look terrible. Other do, and they look great. The capability is there.

They separated after 3 came out, afaik. They wanted to start a new IP because they were sick of Halo, but it’s such a money spinner because kids are fucking retarded and keep buying them, so they made ODST and Reach.
