RTNP is perhaps one if two or three different expansions/continuations/sequel things that I liked as much as the original. It was short, but not to short. And, it was pretty full of nice little changes from the original. Like the addition of human weapons and a small skirmish with human NPC’s.
Possibly the greatest RPG ever… - Planescape: Torment
Baldur’s Gate II theme. Though I liked the soundtrack for the first one better as a whole, the theme for II was pretty awesome. You know some epic shit was about to go down.
The music for the expansion was pretty good too.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines Gods that was a great game. If only they had time to finish it, rather than Activision forcing them to kick it out the door two-thirds of the way through the project…
Also good use of licensed music!
F-ZERO GX/AX - Blood Falcon
Freaky song, I love it. The OST of the game is generally good, albeit cheesy, but this song is my absolute favorite of the soundtrack.
Warframe has some pretty nifty music by Yakudo.
if you loved that, you should check out the older f-zeros (which have more memorable songs)
Cave Story and Katamari Damacy have great soundtracks, I could just sit and listen to them all day. Jet Force Gemini had an amazing soundtrack too.
Alien 3 for SNES had a pretty epic soundtrack, as does Super Meat Boy. And of course you can’t forget Megaman X,Donkey Kong Country 2, or Age of Empires 2.
I could go on forever really…video game music is somehow so much more emotional and enjoyable than most music…
It’s because with game music, it tends to play with certain mood, unlike other music, working together with the rest of the artistic part of the game to create unique, awesome atmosphere.
That said, I like Half-Life did a great job, and Mass Effect also has a few very good moments thanks to music. Otherwise, I can’t think of any other game than Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis itself.
STALKER’s music wasn’t melodic, but I thought it did a pretty good job of pulling you in when appropriate.
This song in particular really added a lot to yantar
Bioshock Infinite had some good music.
This was one of my favorite parts.
Also, some very minor spoilers, but this was just brilliant.
Okay, so I found a link to my favorite bit of music in Warframe- the main theme.
HHHHHNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG
Oh yeah, I know, I have F-ZERO X on my 17 year old N64, and F-ZERO on an SNES emulator. It’s just that I fell in love with the Blood Falcon theme.
The soundtrack to the puzzle game Q.U.B.E is pretty good.
My favorite track is “Finale”
You can play the tracks, but you have to buy them to download them.
It wasn’t in the game, but I’ve always loved this theme

Really wish they didn’t scrap that version and replace it with what was basically a mediocre remake of the previous game
