Battlefield 3's System Requirements

For people playing it right now how does it compare to BC2? Bad, good differences?

It’s like a mix of BF2 + BC2 where it’s easier to kill people, but there is a lot of lag issues right now so its hard to tell. It really doesn’t feel like BC2 much though from what I’ve played.

Was fine for me.

More realistic, way prettier. A++ would play again.

Okay, the stuff that was quoted above… i don’t agree with much of that.
Same models as Bc2? lol
Animations and enviroment same as bc2? lol
2 knives to kill someone? i wonder how he knifed
damage seems fine to me. i think it is amazing!

I played more smooth rounds today with little lag, it’s pretty awesome. It feels like BF2 where weapons do more damage and the destruction of BC2. And lol, I’m posting this from ingame with origin. You press shift-f1 to go into the UI for origin in game, and it’s a lot like steam - the windows are white, as if to be a contrast to steam.

Very good video and I’m glad that all the complainers are complaining for nothing.

HOLY FUCK I GOT 2 GAMES OF CASPIAN BORDER IN BEFORE THEY CHANGED THE PASSWORD, IT WAS AMAZING.

EDIT:

I got back in, new password is “shoppingcartsareagoodride” if anyone is trying to get in the Caspian servers

I’m fucking loving this game. Playing on Caspian Border as well but I keep getting disconnected. Think it’s my internet though.

I’m curious where that extra 5 gigs comes from in the retail version.

Uhh, the singleplayer and co-op campaigns?

Also, the beta is the most fun I’ve had with a vidya game in a long time, but fucking shit it’s buggy.

EDIT: Apparently some people playing on consoles are complaining about it not looking as good as the PC version. Well what the hell did you expect it to look like running on hardware that’s 5-6 years old?

Did they cut the campaign out of the DD version? That would be dumb.

Derp, I thought you put beta, not DD.

The beta’s incredibly fun. Though I wish I could run it on higher than Low. :frowning:

I get about 40-60 FPS on high on Metro and pretty much a consistent 30 FPS (though it drops to 10 occasionally at random, everyone on the server gets it) on Caspian.

I get about 30-40 fps on Low on Metro and I’ve never gotten on Caspian, but I still get a weird stuttering effect in animation that doesn’t look like it’s a frame rate drop. It just looks…jittery.

i’ve got 30-40 fps on Metro on maxed out settings… pretty good

Horrible beta of a great game, that’s what I’m getting right now.

Much less stable than a beta should be. Kit weapons randomly change, constantly fall through the map, disconnecting all the time, and generally strange in-game behavior.

Guns may be too powerful for the small map size of OM… the only fucking map and most un-battlefield map they seem to have. The biggest problem I have with the beta so far is the map itself.

When it’s all fixed a month after the game is shipped through many patches, it will be golden.

That was pretty much what i was getting from it, though oddly enough, it seems like Caspian is LESS buggy than metro aside from graphical glitches and the occasional after-round crash, which makes no sense because Caspian was supposed to remain internal, and Metro is the public one. The weapons are definitely more suited to the much larger BF gameplay, though there is some hit detection problems.

IMO i always try to get into the caspian servers even though it takes a while, because OM is just so bad compared to it.

Yeah, beta =/= demo, doesn’t represent final product, etc. Really hoping it’s great on release. I preordered RAGE instead of BF3 though. :S

I believe i have been very lucky then. I haven’t really experienced any bugs or glitches. Or at least not any major ones, the only ones i have had was the ‘kill-cam’ failing and showing some part out of the map, or me getting stuck for some seconds.

Where can I get the pass for the Caspian servers?

Edit: Never mind googled it https://videogamewriters.com/no-caspian-borders-for-you-battlefield-3-beta-shuts-down-servers-25492
