Battlefield 3 finnaly show up - on Game Informer's March cover

I guess I could agree with you there. Owning all the time in American made pwnage can get a little boring after a while. :stuck_out_tongue:

Then Battlefield 3 is not the game for you.

Feel free to pick up on of the pew-pew ā€œarcade shootersā€ on the way out.

Oh 4chan. You so funny.

Except for the part where you said that tanks are completely overpowered. That has nothing to do with the campaign.

Fair enough. But your nitpicking over the way I said it, not what I was trying to say. My problem is tanks in the campaign turns it into more or less a pixel shooting gallery.

Which I fully agree. I hate tank levels in campaigns, but saying theyā€™re overpowered in MP simply because theyā€™re realistic is a bit odd. As has been stated, if they werenā€™t realistic and shooting a person with a full 105mm (or however big an Abrams gun is) shell and them not dying is too underpowered, and people would be complaining then, too. Just easier to make them realistic and have them serve their actual combat purpose.

i liked this comment:

yeah, no, fuck off. The impact of the scene is what matters.
Also, I have one word for youā€¦

Helicopters.
There is a ton of other things that can make tank gameplay interesting.
Like 1 on 1 duels, Tank vs Helicopter hideā€™nā€™seek, tactical maneuvering and positioningā€¦ tons of scenarios.
Lastly thatā€™s like saying exoskeletons in Killzone 2 sucked because they were overpowered. Which would be a total bullshit since the the impact of the scene was overwhelming since most of the game you are pretty fucking vulnerable. Balance is th key for a good campaign.

The only thing that I didnā€™t like is that the cannon targeting and aiming there is far too simplified.

Guess what: Its going to be very simplified. This isnā€™t a simulator. Its an FPS with an emphasis on gameplay as a soldier.

Tank levels are only fun for me in a destructible environment (i.e. city) where you can play hide and seek with other tanks, and blow up entire buildings. A desert is literally the worst place for one.

No fucking shit, but since you are shooting a huge fucking cannon, at least some imitation of actual shooting routines and operation procedures wouldnā€™t hurt, you know.
But whatever, the fact that you get to drive from a commanderā€™s position tells a lot anyway.

I guess it was simply a show off of vast environments.
Anyway, I wanna see BF2143 after this.

There was a 50% bonus on trade-ins at Gamestop so I managed to put all but $7 down on the preorder for this game :3 . Canā€™t wait.

Also I like playing as vehicles in the singleplayer, though itā€™s not usually as fun as in multiplayer. For all you guys know there could be another tank level in a city or something. I mean the storyā€™s supposed to be something like 12 hours long.

I want this pretty bad.

^

hell yeah.

The funny part is you really didnā€™t even address my main problem. Tanks are slow cumbersome AND overpowered. Them being overpowered wasnā€™t the only problem. And overpowered can be a fun thing when you want to create a sense of epicness and badassness, but that doesnā€™t really work in a boring desert with only other tanks to shoot. Even if you can control them, it still often becomes more or less a point and click rail system as seen in this desert video.

However, as someonerandom said, now that I think about it tanks in a city would be fun because of all the destruction.

If Frostbite 2 is moddable for shitā€¦ I think thatā€™s your only chance at getting that.

Iā€™d like to see Battlefield 2 remade in Frostbite 2 :awesome:

Thatā€™s actually what BF3 isā€¦

I want Battlefield 2143 too. 2142 was one of the best multiplayer games Iā€™ve ever played.

I want the maps, with destruction and all

  • bots for offline playing

Battlefield 2 maps are included in Battlefield 3, destruction and all. I believe thereā€™s bots as well.

that is awesome!
