Assassin's Creed V

I like the changes…but the reasoning behind them…“co-op” …REALLY!?

I just don’t like the idea of coop behind an AC game… I like to take my time without other people getting in the way. I don’t like coop games in general, really. Unless I have a dedicated friend to play it with, which I don’t.

Assassin’s Creed Unity delayed to November:

I bet it’s still going to be as buggy as Watch Dogs is even though it’s getting delayed just like Watch Dogs was.

I think they’re just avoiding the super packed October schedule.

Yeah…and instead of that they’ll be releasing 4 of they’re own games within a week. Two Assassin Creed games at the same day…what the hell Ubi…WHAT THE HELL…

Well, Unity’s and Rogue’s platforms don’t cross each other, Far Cry 4 will sell like gangbusters either way and no one gives a shit about The Crew.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is 900p/30fps on both PS4 & Xbox One:

Ubisoft should’ve just said “ehh, technical reasons, you know” instead of just straight out confirming that MS paid them to keep the game the same on both consoles.

And with Ubi Kiev handling the PC version, there’s little hope it’ll be decent as well.

I sure do love platform parity making it pointless to have more than one hardware spec on the market.

Glorious cinematic 30fps

Call me stupid (you already do) but I don’t get all of this. Some people say the eye can see “insert x” frames per second and nothing above makes a difference. There are many conflicting statements about this all over internet and my friends too argued with me when I told them that I can spot the framerate drop from 100 to 60 or from 60 to 30 for example and their response was that I’m just imagining things. Obviously, they are consolists, so mostly used to “30 fps” games (more like 20 something) and I play on PC, so our perceptions may differ because of this.

What some people don’t realize is that it’s not just a matter of visual smoothness, it’s also a matter of controller response. The higher the refresh rate, the more responsive a game becomes. Try playing Quake 3 at different frame rates and you’ll definitely notice a difference in control and accuracy in the mouse movement.

That said, some games benefit from it more than others but higher framerate is never going to make a game worse.

This generation is really depressing. The PS4 and Xbone aren’t groundbreaking compared to previous gens. I hate this “Cinematic silky smooth 30fps” trend that’s been growing since last gen.

I feel like I want to punch you.

I wish PR/devs stopped coming up with silly excuses for their technical choices. Just say it’s for technical reasons and move on.

Isn’t that what’s said in the article though? Apparently the CPUs are bottlenecking their efforts to get the most out of the new consoles…

Ubisoft pretty much reminds me of Comcast’s ad.
Just think Comcast is Ubisoft.

No, I mean the stuff like saying they made the resolution the same on both consoles “to avoid debates and stuff” or trying to justify a framerate saying it feels better than the other.

It’s just making themselves look like idiots.

From what I’ve read, around the highest framerate that can be perceived is about 230 fps or something like that, and that was from a test with jet pilots, so the normal person will probably be lower. This was a test done with flashing one frame for a fraction of a second, whatever 230 fps is or whatever the number was, it was around there. It wasn’t done with actual framerate so if you did it with actual framerate it might be different. In any case the limit is a hell of a lot higher than 60 fps.
