I am actually going to scream, this is ridiculous.
If you haven’t noticed, people talk about politics all the time. Maybe this is below your infinite wisdom, but people tend to like discussing how stuff happens in our government and others. Most atheists, that I know anyway, who talk about religion, only talk about the politics it interferes with. Like when a textbook that doesn’t support creationism is nearly taken out of the schools. Or some woman is hung to death in Saudi Arabia. When were actually talking about how ridiculous it is, it is in response to some fundamentalist idiot bashing evolution or somesuch event.
He trashes religion quite badly, actually. He refers to organized religion as effectively a tool of control, an amalgamation a convenient realities and harsh penalties clearly designed for maximum popular appeal and adherence, and he treats this as self evident, which implies in turn an opinion of the faithful that is less than admiring.
I don’t care for politics. I’m totally okay with what goes on in the world.
Someonerandm, he wasn’t trashing it so much as he was pointing out the negative things. Trashing implies total hulked-out hatred with no holds barred.
As an atheist I’m just so tired of constantly being confronted by the scientific illiteracy of creationists and their ignorance towards science and reason. I’m not even that well educated and even I understand things like evolution and the big bang theory.
