Ask a Muslim!

nope am not offended by your post, it’s a sad fact how these muslims you’re talking about takes things for granted, they’re merely scapegoats of their own actions if you know what I mean, and the heck is extremely unethical law ?
it’s not unethical and I can give lotta of reasons if ya want, but don’t get me wrong you have the full rights to defend your own cultures from these fanatics, and don’t assume Islam in forces this, I can give a lot of Quranic verses that strictly forbids any “enforcing” whether it was religious or laws. for instance take this verse:

in fluent Arabic : لا اكراه في الدين. go ahead translate it and you’ll understand

btw did you guys watch the video I posted ?

I doubt it…

You didn’t answer ANY of my questions so why should I watch your Youtube video?

Is “Uncle Angus” a Scotsman because he puts sugar on his oatmeal?
Does a Muslim have the right to tell non-Muslims what they can and cannot do based on what they personally find offensive?

I await your answers.

you’re talking as if the Muslims were hypocrites by genes. and your answer is, no I don’t know and I don’t want to delve into it cause I told you before that no matter what I say or do, it will not change anything

But then why do you even protest in the first place? Or are angry at it?

Fine. If you don’t want to answer my questions, I don’t want to watch your Youtube video. I’m not sure why you’re in the “Ask a Muslim” thread at all.

Here’s how I, a non-Muslim, would answer the questions:

Is “Uncle Angus” a Scotsman because he puts sugar on his oatmeal? Yes. Yes he is. The “no true Scotsman” fallacy is just another version of “moving the goalposts”. You keep redefining what it means to be a “true X” until nothing is an “X” except for the things YOU agree with. Those Muslims that distort the Qur’an and do things that the Qur’an tells you not to do are still Muslims even if they commit heinous acts.

Do Muslims have the right to tell non-Muslims what they can and cannot do? No. The Qur’an is meant for Muslims and how Muslims should interact with non-Muslims. And the Qur’an doesn’t give them carte blanche authority to lord over non-Muslims and issue death threats to people that aren’t even Muslim simply because they’re offended. I say the same to Christians who seek to use their religion to create laws against non-Christians or those that aren’t “true” Christians.

That’s my answers to those questions. What are yours?

you said everything, and there’s nothing wrong with your answers, and this thread is about Islamic faith, I told you man, my knowledge isn’t Wikipedia there somethings that I still have to learn, I didn’t say I was a professor from Oxford. you may say then why I started this thread If I don’t know everything, but the answer I do know all the basics of Islamic believes and laws, you ask I answer simple as that. am not much experienced “yet” with life as you.

After sidestepping numerous attacks as deftly as the most charismatic politician on Earth Shadi brings things to a close with the faultless “i dunno lol” answer.

At least he didn’t lie or try to deceive. He said from the very beginning that his knowledge was limited and that he would answer as best as he could. If his best is not good enough for us, it’s not his fault.

When someone does it and knows that it’s “holy” for you then this person obviously doesn’t respect you - let be honest, you wouldn’t become good friends in the end. Anyway, I’m an egoist myself and don’t care much what other people think, so I wouldn’t say that “no one should do it”. Let’s all provoke each other and have a good fight, shall we?

So people cannot respect other people if they simply don’t believe the same and are not bound by the same rules? My friend is a jew and I can say Jehova without him being all angry at me. Why should it be any different for muslims?

So if it bothered him, would you still say it? Or maybe you wouldn’t call him a friend anymore?

Obviously, respecting other people sometime requires small sacrifices. On the other hand, if I offended someone’s religion by doing something that I like, I would tell him to fuck off.

Let’s say me and him are not friends. We just know eachother. Alright?

Now tell me, why would I need to respect him other then him possibly giving me death threats and being angry at me if otherwise, if we would stay neutral otherwise?

xept, I didn’t send ya a death threat

Yeah, but understand: There are a whole lot that do. And it’s not just about the death threats. It’s about you going all angry because I drew Muhammed. You guys are going nuts if somebody depicts Muhammed in a giant bear constume. A BEAR COSTUME! Is that really worth protesting for?

So you are angry at Muslims just because you don’t understand their reasoning? Because, you know, death threats is a much better reason…

Their reasoning is protesting against freedom of speech. And the protests are not peacefull stuff like “We wan’t Muhammed pics gone”. It’s stuff threatening virtually every country of the western world.

Ah, but there’s the rub, ain’t it? The very concept of Islam is offensive to some Christian fundamentalists. It says that one “has another god before God”, whether that is actually true or not (it’s not). The very existence of the Muslim religion goes against that which is “holy”.

So, why would someone BE Muslim if they know it offends a Christian fundamentalist’s view of what is holy?

Simple answer: You don’t have the right to not be offended. You also don’t have the right to issue death threats because someone does something you consider unholy.

I’ve been disrespected up and down the gamut simply for being atheist. I’ve had things said about me that offend me to my core (notably, that I’m another Hitler), but you know what? You have to get over it.

If you’re a Muslim, don’t draw Mohammed. If you’re not, a Muslim is allowed to get offended if you do something they find offensive. But that’s where it should stay. The Muslim can certainly respond and I would want them to. However, responding violently only solidifies the one doing the drawing that they’re doing right…just like violence perpetrated by America and its allies solidifies the terrorists’ assumption that they’re doing right.

tl;dr:
Man up and realize that your undue visceral response to what others do just eggs them on…kind of like feeding the troll. If Muslims didn’t respond to the pokes, the pokes would vanish. But, since they feed the troll, the troll continues and thrives.

And no one wants that, do they?

that’s what exactly what I said earlier, and that what I hope of fellow Muslims should do. ignoring will kill the trolls instantly

beers
why dont you drink them

should I honestly bother answering ?
