I happen to be Catholic, but I personally think that the Bible was written by men and is therefore not necessarily completely true. As for being made in God’s image, that could mean any number of things- from temperament (from old testament to new, this would explain Bipolar disorder) to the general way people act or whatever. It’s not necessarily about physical image but possibly mental image.

Okay, well what exactly caused the Big Bang? We don’t really know for sure. Some cosmic coincidence suddenly made the universe appear? I don’t know about you, but that seems rather implausible. Perhaps we don’t actually exist. Or perhaps the reason the Big Bang happened in the first place was in fact instigated by a higher power. But I don’t think it’s information that people like us are privy to, being secrets of the universe and all.
If it was a higher power, what caused the higher power? And what caused that? And what caused that?

there are reason behind it, we don’t FULLY understand them, but there are hypotheses on it. we are getting closer to understanding it, though. we can even find evidence of it: background radiation leftovers. turn on your tv to a channel you don’t get, see that fuzz? background radiation from the big bang.
just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it’s magic. that is a very ignorant way of thinking. every day i feel like people haven’t really advanced as much as we want to think. magical thinking is still finding absurd explanations for the unknown, just as it was 1000s of years ago.
first i am not a sectant. Orthodox Christianity is religion. second in mt RELIGION we dont think that we all will get to heaven because we are orthodoxs. I myself belive that only few(doesn’t mean 2-3) choosen will get to heaven.

I like that question. I have thought about this much and i think the answer is yes, but it was while we were in heaven but after the exile humans changed in form. I got idea of this when I once read that arceologyst found skull of human that was older and more envolved than homo sapiens. i said before that soul has influence over body. so when human was created he was pure, holy. but after commiting sin he begun degradation. so i think that we are far from image of god but we look like him.
