Are you a rapist? Apparently you should be....

Google IS powerful; I don’t think that single fact should surprise anyone, or necessarily be scary.

I like that I got a free check for rape though. Just need to find some attractive young girl that doesn’t carry mace, then blame all my impulses on video games.

Yeah, except replace “the republican propaganda news station” with “dumbshits.” Even other republicans are ashamed of FOX.

EDIT: epic noticing-the-thread-is-five-pages-long fail

Oh hai guise, is dis where we go if we leik to raep. evar sinse I plaed teh donkey punch kong I lieked teh raep. teh judje saed I cahn no have fotos of teh mario bcuz of teh raep. anybody in here have mario fotos?

I admit, Dirt 2 does make me want to rape people.

In the UK it’s illegal to attempt to buy age rated games if you’re too young, and it’s illegal to sell age rated games to underage people. I heard that while the USA has a rating system, it’s not enforced by law

This true, or just so much balls?

It’s definitely true. Why else do you think there are 6 year old kids on COD? :fffuuu:

No doubt about that. What got me riled up after reading that was the depths of hypocrisy being displayed. Not many years ago these “pundits” were telling us to be proud and thankful of our government for going out of their way to bring democratic ideals to other countries with bombs and bullets, and to love and cherish our president and his cabinet for doing this for the world.

Now, Google is apparently a tool of the leftist liberal elite government bringing democratic ideals to countries around the world powered by words and ideas, NOT bombs and bullets, (apparently) fomenting actual, not forced, revolution, and we’re to hate this? Because, apparently, it’s a liberal conspiracy?!

That’s what made me so mad about that. The sheer bald-faced partisan hypocrisy makes me want to vomit. Had there been a guy with an ® next to his name in the oval office, such a claim would never be made.

And yes, the original topic at hand is still…bullshit.

I found this on the news article in the first post in the comments section. Just wanted to share it.

On-Topic: This girl is still an idiot and nothing will change it

When will people learn video games don’t to bad things to peoples heads?

Probably never.

You have to see it from the point of someone who lives in a country with decent news broadcasting exclusively. I live in Britain, and some of the things I have seen on Fox news are absolutely atrocious, such as presenters offering slightly off topic and strong opinions in the middle of a news segment. BBC, with all it’s flaws deriving from trying to be too PC, is miles above the stuff I see when I have watched Fox.

The way the rating system in the US is:

E: 6+ (Not enforced)
E10+: 10+ (Not enforced)
T: 13+ (Not enforced)
M: 17+ (Enforced)
AO: 18+ (Enforced)

People at stores WILL ask you for your ID if you buy an M-rated game (AO games aren’t carried in stores, you have to buy them online). The reason so many children have M-rated games is because they ask their parents to buy it for them. Even if it’s in front of the cash register, the cashier cannot say no if the parent is the one buying it.

Ah I see, thanks. Parents buying it is the same here, but that’s down to parenting rather than legislation. We use the BBFC system, which is 12, 15 and 18, but we’re switching to the crap PEGI system

It’s funny how politicians don’t even acknowledge bad parenting when ranting about the violence in video games.

People just don’t want to admit that they are bad parents.

The bad parent demographic is very large.

FOX makes America look 100x worse.

I know I’m late but, rapes been decreasing not increasing.

This statement sums up the political system better than I ever could

This.

Very likely it’s much worse than you hear. It makes me die a little inside every time I hear about them and am reminded that they actually have a viewership. brrrrrr.

My parents aren’t bad! They controlled my media! They didn’t start me out with Duke Nukem, at least.

And besides, I’ve typed up this REALLY kind letter to Dr. Carole. I’ll post the reply.

letting your kids play (semi-) violent games != bad parenting (necessarily)

tbh
