Just thinking… Do you think they’re for the same thing?
After all, we know vortiguants farmed antlions…

Yes, welcome to 3 years ago.
lol baconeggs
I don’t think they’re the same… the xen ones don’t seem to be heavy, and they don’t really fall and hit the ground faster than they’re raised.
It seems more like a controlled reciprocating motion, such as breathing. Pumping of some kind, like a heart for the soil.
I don’t get it! Weren’t the combine thumpers to keep the ant lions at bay. There ain’t no ant lions in Xen so wtf?
doesn’t that just prove his theory?
Kind of contradicting inst it? Seeing how the combine ones were on earth and the Xen ones were on Xen. But to answer your question, yes. The combine thumpers were used to stop ant lions from reaching bases, citys, key points of interest, etc.
I think he wanted to know if the Xen ones were servicing the same purpose as the Combine ones.
I’m pretty sure there are antlions on Xen, but we just never see them
of course you dont see any fucking antlions on zen. oh god. i need a fucking antlion thread.
No we don’t need a fucking antlion thread
Why, because they’re not on earth then? During the RC, at least one shoulda teleported considering how many there are.
they look more Synth to me.
Tiki i love your sig.
can’t stop watching it ^^
As my sig suggests, there will be antlions on xen.
In a mod.
:hmph:
No.
There where antlions on Xen. They where underground, nothing more, nothing less.
What’s a “puerpose”?
To be fair, if you didn’t go along the coast, you wouldn’t have seen any Antlions at all. It wasn’t until the Citadel stopped giving power to the Thumpers that they invaded City 17.
I always assumed that the levels that you came across on Xen were all connected to the factory and some sorta georhythmically powered generators that powered those factories. Since the vorts actively raised antlions, they were probably kept under much better control on Xen than how they ran pretty much wild on earth, and hence kept well away from the factory lines and generator planets.
They’re giant nutcrackers
That’s why you don’t see the Gonarch near them :fffuuu:
