Actors that make a film what it is...

And it’s a coincidence that 95% of the movies he stars in are shitty?

Nigger you obviously ain’t seen the following:

Kick-Ass
Astro Boy
Adaptation.
Fast times @ Ridgemont High
Valley Girl
Birdy
Wicker Man

his performance in these films and the films themselves are great if not at least neat-o.

You’re a shit if you can seriously base your opinion of an actor on his performance in movies you’ve heard are shitty (because god knows you probably haven’t even watched them) instead of his performances that simply do not suck.

Honestly I just said Nicholas Cage because people seem pretty divided about him.

It’s true, look. ^

This isn’t about Nicolas Cage, it’s about lo-contrast chumps that can’t afford to pay the self-awareness bill.

nicholas cage is the shit (as in good)

recommended with him in it:
Wild at Heart
Leaving Las Vegas
Lord of War
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

those are fucking brilliant

I love how he JUST used a line from that movie to prove how shitty it is…

I don’t mind Cage. I think he is a capable actor that enjoys acting, has fun with it, but makes a really bad movie at least once a year.

Nic Cage made the Sorcerer’s Apprentice tolerable. Herculean task, that.

Faraday cage scene was fuggin’ awesome, though.

To each his own then, “Nigger”

I’m not just being a bandwagon-jumping lemming, I just really dislike Nick Cage.

Also, I couldn’t stand the Wicker Man, maybe it’s just a different taste in movies?

I haven’t seen Wicker Man yet but about 90% of the internet fucking hates it.

I saw the original Wicker Man and it was awesome. Haven’t seen the Wicker Man remake but I’ve heard tales…

You’re contradicting yourself and you’re generally wrong.

Raising Arizona and Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

Quote Error Demonstrandum.

He’s can be alright IMO, for instance I liked him in National Treasure. I’m gonna have to disagree with you on Astro Boy though. It was just…well, aside from the whole movie being kinda lackluster, I felt Nic Cage’s performance was really bland and unbelievable. He goes from creating this metal boy to suddenly wanting him gone for no apparent reason. The transition must have been completely within Tenma’s heart and mind because I could not see it at all. Part of it could be the animation and direction, which wasn’t Nic’s fault, but his lines didn’t help either, as they sounded just read off the page to me.

“Say hello to my lio freh!”

Hispanic people, raised in spanish speaking countries, don’t sound like that. I don’t know anyone personally from Cuba, but I know people from other central/south American countries. His accent in Scarface killed the movie for me.

Johnny Depp would go to hell for Pirates of the Carribean 4, if it were not for “Dead Man” …

seeing as cuba is pretty isolated from central/south america i’m pretty sure that’s not representative at all

Nicholas Cage is every bit as bad and as good as people in this thread have made him out to be. for serious, interesting roles like his work in The Weather Man or Adaptation he’s surprisingly capable and subtle.

and then you put him in something like The Wicker Man…that would have been a lame bargain-bin failure with anyone else, but you put Nick Cage on that shit and let him go nuts and it drops below bad to a level of hilariously awesomeyou rarely see in A-list films. even at his worst…he’s absolutely perfect for almost every role he’s in.

I don’t particularly care for Cage. He can be good, but from what I’ve seen of him, the ratio isn’t really in his favour.

Actors that make films? Jim Carrey, I dunno if it’s already been said. He steals every show he’s on.

Cubans have one hellovan accent.

Ace Ventura is honestly one of my favorite movies ever, Jim Carrey used to be much better though, he’s starting to die on me.
