A thought about progress updates

All I was saying was that the website post in question was a good example of people making a big deal out of simple updates. :meh:

Neither do I. As a mod developer myself, I concur- no talk of a release date should be shared because it WILL generate crap like the link we just saw. Even so, something like “bugs in map c1a2 squashed” or something like that would be nice once in a while.

Generally I’ll share quite a bit of information on my mod development on the forums my mod has a division on. But being as it is that my mod isn’t anywhere close to done and I’m working more or less on my own on the mod, I understand that BM’s dev team has nary the time or inclination to encourage this sort of intercommunication between team and public.

Ultimately I leave the discourse on the mod and it’s development to the capable hands of the team. The media produced thus far should reassure us that things are getting done and done well, so all that’s left is to put our ear to the ground for a while and listen for the Gargantua lumbering down the street to eviscerate our skulls.

I can not for the life of me figure out why someone being intentionally obtuse[/SIZE] would have the gall to bitterly complain or act frustrated and personally injured about their intentionally obtuse comments being misinterpreted or over-analyzed. It goes with the territory.

Love you too, buddy.

Bit behind the times, but where did this come from and has anyone beside an obscure gaming website confirmed this?

Words can cause Resonance Cascades too, you know?

Look at this:

The N4G article was based on >> PCGames.de >> Which was based on: HLPortal.de

`–> Resulted in this (techappz32.com) and this (thatstoday.com) too.

Of course I’m excluding many posts elsewhere on the Internetz.

Thanks, but where did Catz get that from?

I would think Catz saw this thread and asked others in the dev team (i wonder too who that was) if it was a good idea to tell (which apparently it was) and what amount of months to tell.

11010101000000000100111011100010 Enjoy

Don’t you mean 001100010010011110100001101101110011?

no

And once again the internet proves that few bother doing actual research, and simply quote each other quoting things out of context that someone may or may not have said. The internet is so much fun.

Guys.wtf? this is good news. They said it wont be released in the next 2 months…they could have said 4-5-6 months,1 year…but he said only 2…which means, they are getting closer.Amen.

dream on

nah, i actually agree with you, i think they are getting closer, RELEASE SOON GAIS

No, 4-5-6 months include 2 months.

Actually they said it just because, they all thought, that the hint from Natedgreat would mean a release date at the end of 2010.

Black Mesa’s internal deadline was early 2010, I don’t know if they are still on track or not

How do you know that? Internal deadline is internal.

Their internal schedule reaches into 2011, according to Ram’s “hitting our milestones” post.

First: please dont take this as attacking or disturbing post.

Its right to have some time to tell the waiting fans they shall not anoy with release questions.
Its done when its done that is good status for an certain time… but looses truth the often it is said.
A year without news shows that there is not much development on the mod.

The periods of visiting of the waitin fans expands as long as there is no bone for the dogs…

The point is if a team has no more time or energy to go on developing mostly it is a sign that the mod already IS dead but only the team dont want to tell it cause they dont want to accept it theirself.
I know what I talking about cause I was also in the same situation.

I really hope it is not true that the mod might be dead cause I really looking forward to see your great work. But the hope wanes as time goes far.

Dont expect us to nail you down if you tell the thoughts or progress of the mod but dont let us stand in the dark without any information…

just a few thoughts
thanks for reading

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
