You know what we need? We need propaganda.
The black mesa militia I mean, not the devs.

Dammit!
Oh well.
Ive always wanted to hold the rank of Generalissimo
Not exactly, not for a while anyway - I think the OP made the point that there hasn’t even been a tweet in over a year!
obviously tho who really gives a shit as long as they’re still working on it, we’re all here cos we wanna play this bitch!
BMS is hearby renamed Blizzard, and the release will be 8 years longer than anyone expected.
blizzard is a professional 40 hour a week job that they get PAID for.
:meh:
I started coming to the BM forums years ago (lurking really, not posting), as have many of you . The lack of information on status is certainly disappointing and always will be, but imo not because a lot of us demand it or feel that the devs owe it to us. I think it’s primarily just frustration because of the still-intense interest in the mod.
The thing is, though, I stop in here less and less for two reasons:
If there are occasions where status information is posted here, I never seem to be able to find it. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place, e.g., the wiki is a better place to check for information about the mod?
But a bigger reason to me is that the amount of bile that’s released on these forums is beyond anything I’ve seen on any other gaming forums I frequent. That is more discouraging to me about these forums than is the lack of status info about the mod. I don’t really see the purpose of these forums anymore, because they seem to have devolved to one bitch-fest after another. And believe me, I love sarcasm (none of it in this post, though) but the forums feel more like when you have to go over to see those relatives everyone has, who are constantly sniping at each other. It gets wearisome.
The wiki is an excellent source of information. One of the admins of the wiki, Conti, uses his user page to gather current information extracted from the “Got a Question” forum.
https://www.wiki.blackmesasource.com/User:Conti
Also, there is a forum post made specifically for news on the wiki. Usually, it is updated when interesting material is added on the wiki.
You may also contact me via email or private message if you have any questions on the mod( if you do not wish to post them on the forums). Somethings I cannot answer, but I will try to be helpful.
Thanks for the update Catz, its very appreciated and Merry Christmas .
And yes this forum has indeed turned into a big flamefest, not even Gabe’s lovetub was this bad.
Thanks for the useful information, JamesKane. It’s appreciated.
I’m expecting black mesa in 2 months, if there is no release then I will begin to wait for another undetermined amount of time, until the next time there is a vague hint of a release date possibility.
Thanks, Catz. See you all in two months
I was hoping sooner than two months, but I’ll find some way to cope.
(Ross Scott is done filming The Tunnel and he’s going to jump back onto Freeman’s Mind. Yay! Maybe he’ll really be to the trash compactor scene by the time BM comes out. )
Well, that was dissapointing. EVERYONE PACK YOUR SHIT UP CUZ CHRISTMAS IS CANCELLED!!..AGAIN!!!:fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu:
stop whingeing like a little bitch, please
no new news.
I think this guy may be right. Im sorta getting tired of this forum too…sad day indeed
The “bile” you think you see, Eddie, is actually lighthearted and sometimes just incidences of annoyance at having to answer the same questions over and over again when the answers are available for anyone and everyone to easily read.
How would you feel, Eddie, if you were sitting behind a table with a big “Here’s the answers to your questions” sign next to it, and people still come up and ask those same questions anyway? After pointing to the BIG SIGN over and over again, would you eventually get a little frustrated yourself?
I understand that there’s still intense interest in the mod, but that doesn’t excuse blatant laziness and inability to read.
There isn’t much in the way of status updates or other new media being released because that’s how the devs have chosen to handle things. As has been stated many times before (on that big sign that people seem to be unable to see).
We’ll get the mod “when it’s done” and pestering the devs isn’t going to help. It’s just going to annoy. So, just sit tight. It’ll come “when it’s done”.
Okay?
(You may now proceed to ignore everything I just said.)
What I don’t understand, though, is if it so annoying to repeat stuff about the mod, why don’t the regulars just ignore those posts? Seems like that’d be easier.
Because that would lead to the questioner’s ignorance about the mod, then the next thing we know we get a thread that asks why we’re still here if (insert regular here) said the mod was dead. Our aim with dry sarcasm is to make the person realize that there are ways of getting answers that don’t revolve around making a thread with a redundant question
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
