A thought about progress updates

We have received much more in the way of updates than any other mod and still people want more.

There is an internal timeline for the mod and, currently, it appears they’re on schedule. They don’t owe you anything from a release date, to a window for release, to even the mod itself.

All the devs could simply go “fuck this shit” and delete the mod and go on with their lives. Sure that will piss many people off, but you’d have to deal with it.

Just wait. If you don’t like waiting, then wait some more. Regardless of the complaints, they’re going to do what they’re going to do and, well, you can’t do shit about it.

So, sit down, shut up, and…

I agree with all your statements, but you must understand that complaining (stating an opinion) or demanding progress reports will be met with a flaming because it does nothing to further or help the progress of the mod and is like nails on a chalkboard to those of us who don’t complain. So develop some sarcasm skill or leave now and forever hold your peace. And I stand by my statement about your avatar

Dev’s: Progress Update
Users: MORE UPDATES!
Dev’s: Progress Update
Users: MORE UPDATES!

and so on…

All of this I’ve already figured out myself. I was hoping to get somethings else out of you answer, but hey, fuck it.

I just don’t understand why forums have to bring out the worst in people, especially around the holidays. I’m not saying we should all hold hands around the camp fire and sing Kum ba yah, don’t get me wrong, but what most of the regulars here are flying towards is the opposite end of the scale.

What should we do with people that ask the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again even though the answer is plainly visible to anyone that takes a millisecond to search for the answer…and it would take longer to register for an account, type the question, and hit “Post” than find the answer?

Any ideas?

Yes. We should close down these horrible forums.

(within six months)

LOL? And JohnWorfin is right, either stomach the problems or develop some sarcasm to vent your frustration on newbies/Gargs who keeps on asking the same question over and over(repeat approx 100) again. It seems to work by the way…

When I first joined this forum, I was basically a real life Ned Flanders, who helped old people cross the street and fed starving african kids.

Nowadays, I’m a cynical and bitter guy who gets pleasure from seeing people suffer and runs over kittens for fun.

Well, you’re a better person now, in my books.

Your sig was better when I was quoted in it. It sounded very sarcastic. The new sig seems sad, and broken

It’s because you are the 50,000th person to make the exact same statement, and people get sick of hearing it. Can’t blame 'em for reacting like that if that’s the only thing you’ve come here to say.

Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

  1. Close the Suggestion section. What hasn’t been suggested till now is either stupid, too demanding to implement, or already in the mod.
  2. Reduce Cafeteria to 2 or 3 general chatter threads and disallow creation of new threads. All relevant questions are in there anyway, so no use in letting people clutter the forums with repeated questions as new threads.

Focus on finishing the mod, not playing smartasses against newbs and regulars. If a question is stupid, do not answer it.

If the devs don’t answer, then that’s proof that they don’t care about their fans.

You see, MysticJ: The devs are damned if they do, damned if they don’t. Someone is going to be unhappy. Therefore, they’re going to do what they’re going to do.

The alternative? The mod gets canceled and everyone is unhappy.

The devs are in a like… a no win situation.

Breaking news folks…

I am sorry but do not expect the game to come out within the next two months.

That is all. :wipes the tears from her eyes:

So it’s confrmed.
Release Date: March 2011

Is this an official statement? As in, for real? In that case, :expressionless:

[EDIT] @Catz, obviously.

You do know we can (un)intentionally misinterpret that.:retard:

which is why the dev team rarely makes official statements. cuz regardless of how they word it, something else is always extracted from it.

It is what it is.

Merry Christmas
