Aside from the non-combat tour of Black Mesa idea, I’m surprised that no one has suggested a mod where you play as members of the survey team that visited xen well before the test chamber experiment happened.

I actually REALLY like this idea and have thought about it before. Guys not every game has to be about action…e.g Science and developement mod. Also what about the sims games? they were successful werent they? personally with black mesa being so huge and you experiencing so little of it in the game it would be amazing to explore the entire facility and participate is experiments and you may not have access to all areas but to get access you have to do certain things in the facility to get gordon promoted and then maybe lead it up to questions answered which all of us so want to know. perhaps you meet the g-man in where he hasnt ‘employed’ you. This would basically be a sim and considoring how long the sims games lasted i bet this would be successful to.

Its only boring if all you find fun is action… :slight_smile:

Another idea. Make a Sim city: Black Mesa edition.

Or… Just in the moment of the breakdown someone opens a portal and take Gordon out of the mess…

Then he has to get the portal gun and return to HL 1 to play with it (again, time travel is the solution).

Also, make a timeline of every room on Black mesa and time traveling to see how gordon runs through the mess… (I know, makes no sense).

Actually, there was a mod like this that died awhile back. It was called Tour Black Mesa. I would have really liked to see that mod completed, but it just didn’t happen.

If you were going to create a mod a with the Survival/Horror angle, a new zen creature could be either

  1. A mutated headcrab[Extremely Screwed up experiment?] that abandons the host when the host is killed, then goes into the vents to possess another, and you have to hunt it down.

  2. New Zen creature: Spores that spread through vents and cause people to go rapid. You have a gas mask along with a few others and have to “Clean” the facility.

EDIT: Possibility two could have you as part of a HAZMAT Team, or the HEV suit scientists team up on their own?
