Alright, I fancy a crack at this. Corrupted cores aren’t all the same, right? Each core you stick on Wheatley increases his corruption rate a particular amount. So let’s say the core with the flashlight on would have only garnered something like 5% corruption, whereas the three that were used were 25%. Considering Wheatley was bound to use neurotoxin (and GLaDOS knows full well that that gives Chell a strict amount of time to do the job in) she would pick the cores that would corrupt Wheatley as quickly as possible.
And vampire95, you really don’t make sense!
“there were four places on GLaDOS body where a core could be placed, so why do we only use three?” - What’s the point, if three are enough?
“why didn’t all of the other cores have a flashlight too?” - What?! Who the heck said flashlights automatically turn on when a core gets corrupted?!
That’s what I get from your statements, you guys said that the flaslight core’s flashlight was on because it was brokened, and if the other ones are brokened too, their flashlight should be on too.
No-one said that. I’ve just read every post in the thread and the only person suggesting that is you.
Doesn’t it sound a lil weird?
:fffuuu:
What are those other ones?
SHUT
THE
FUCK
UP
VAMPIRE
Whoa, take it easy there Kaddo. lol
“Ooh, I like this guy! … He says what we’re all thinking!”
^ Seriously! I don’t get Vampire’s point or what difference it makes. O_o
Gaah, you guys are unbelievable… I’m just trying to evolve a discovery, but your minds won’t think beyond your own theories about G-Man being Gordon and all that shit… And when I find something inresting, you just tell me to fuck off. But when I give one comment about the few things that we think equally, then your happy. Freakin’ aristocrats…
Get real, kid.
Someone said that the flashlight was like a car lamp, they blink when a car is brokened. If that’s so, the other cores should also have their flashlight on. But I know that I won’t make any sence to you, since you aristocrats are blinded by your idea of being better then everyone else because you posted more posts then them…
Well, perhaps my post count doesn’t warrant it and I defenitely don’t feel that I’m better than anyone else, (hell I’m just a humble Belgian) but I have to agree with the aristocrats, then.
There is not one Valve game where there are story hints SO deeply hidden in such details. Or they are not-story-related easter-eggs. So why would that suddenly change… you’re looking too much into it.
Someone SUGGESTED it. No-one knows the answer. Probably there isn’t one. It was just done for show. And for fuck’s sake. It’s BROKEN, not brokened. I.e. the past tense of break.
You keep using that word, I don’t think it means what you think it does.
Nothing to do with the number of posts. Spam bots are better than you because at least they have a purpose, however annoying they are.
Aristocrats were the higher ranked citizens with more money then everyone else and they despised anyone below themselves.
You see yourself as higher ranked members of BM with more posts then the others and despise all noobs below yourselves.
And the purpose of this thread is yet again to question why GLaDOS is so unnessesary, if the core was corrupted, even if just a little bit, why did GLaDOS just throw it down and picked up the other three cores? If it was, like someone else suggested, just 5% corrupted, there is still four places on GLaDOS body where a core can be put in, so why not use the core?
The only conclusion is: It’s completley brokened, and as someone else in the thread suggested, it managed to turn on its flashlight before it broke down. Happy now?
Not really.
a) We’re not higher ranked. Only moderators have higher ranks. And even if that’s what it means, you can’t use it in a general context anyway.
b) I didn’t refer to the thread’s purpose. And I think it’s been covered fairly comprehensively so there’s no real need for further discussion on the topic.
c) You spelt it ‘brokened’ again!
Nobody ever said that a car’s headlights come on when it’s broken. That’s really dumb, and besides, how would you engineer a car to turn its headlights on when it breaks? If you have any rudimentary knowledge of technology, you know that that’s really dumb.
This one core happened to break in such a way that its lamp came on. Either that, or it’s minimally corrupted. When you have Wheatley firing bombs at Chell in the main room, GLaDOS is logically going to pick cores in such a way that the job gets done as quickly as possible. The longer it takes, the more likely Chell gets hit by a bomb or fails to stop Wheatley before the facility is enveloped in a nuclear fireball (remember, there are only about 15 minutes until nuclear meltdown when Chell and GLaDOS confront Wheatley).
So, even if there are four spots on the body for cores, why would GLaDOS send in a fourth core if three cores are perfectly able to get the job done? More cores will take more time, and Chell has to get lucky (dodge bombs) for longer.
I said it.
but you know, I said it because I just wanna give an example that the headlamps don’t have to be turned off if the car’s broken. And also, they don’t have to be on, it’s depended on how much damage it took.
Yes, someone said it.
the car lamp on a broken car doesn’t automatically turn on, but it can get stuck on, just like the flashlight was coincidentally stuck on for that core only, while the same thing didn’t happen to the other cores. is it really that hard to understand?
