I drew this in a school period in Sophomore year. The idea is to see if anyone can 3d-model it. If this is insufficient, I will draw side and back with a sharper pencil.
Some idiot who thinks that he knows how to use the internet.
I want to know what went through his mind by posting this. must’ve been something like “I know what I’ll do!! Maybe if I go on the Black Mesa forum, ask for someone to make this a 3-d model, someone will do it! It’s bullet proof! Gee, internetz, you sure have all the answers huh!”
It’s fine if you don’t know how to model something and ask forum members to have a go, but when no-one can tell what the reference material is, then they should expect this type of response.
I like the quote in the signature…great stuff. The drawing was actually something I drew up while bored from scratch…just adding as I went. The pencil used was pretty dull…and I didn’t shade it. I spent under 50 minutes on it…as I still wanted it to be creative and not just random. My hands shake a lot as it is…and no straight edges were used if I can remember. Good starting idea to get me going though…there is a blotch on the crowbar.
I can 3D Model…just not very advanced. I am requiring no files sent to me whatsoever. Just wanted to see who would be interested in modeling it when and if I spend more time on it.
It is Half-Life related because it pertains to my machinima (Half-Life machinima). At first it was only a drawing…then when I listened to Metallica songs more and more…the creature slipped into the scenes that play in my mind when I listen to Metallica. Fight Fire with Fire is where it seems to really come into play as a daunting possibly fear inducing giant building crushing robotic combine machine. Thinking of naming it something as an idea or feeling. Like pain and agony…as it looks very tired and agonizing as it is.
It all comes down to interest I guess. If I don’t draw it, I will definitely create it as a blueprint in Photoshop. I’m not here to rob modelers of what is rightfully theirs.
Guaranteed this is the kind of guy crying over the death of Steve jobs. 'Nother perky Mac Asshole thinking the internet is the Starbucks on the corner where he can shove his shit work in everyone’s face.
btw, Honestly when I heard about S. Jobs I laughed my ass off.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
