2011 Game of the Year poll

So this year is finally coming to an end and it has been an awesome one for video games. So many amazing games have come out and I haven’t had a life for the entire year.

Now that all the big releases are finally out or about to come out, what games do you guys think are GOTY worthy, and what game do you want to win?

IMO, the best games of the year were without a doubt Skyrim, Portal 2, The Witcher 2, Arkham City, Skyward Sword, Deus Ex, and Battlefield 3.

I can’t really say anything about games like Uncharted or Gears of War 3 because I haven’t played them.

Out of all those games, I think Skyrim is going to and should win GOTY, but if Skyrim didn’t win, I’d be happy if the Witcher or Portal 2 did.

Any other predictions for GOTY winners? What were your favorite games and why?

Was considering BF3 or Skyrim, but they both are types of game’s I’ve played before, so my vote goes to Arkham City, for the fact that not only is it an excellent take on batman, but it is one of the most fun superhero games ever made, and is vastly different from most other games aside from the original.

Both skyrim and portal 2 are great…minecraft also =D Unfortunately my computer can’t run the other games on the list, shame =(

Like goat said, I’ve not played a lot of them. Also I’d put shift 2 in there, but that’s a biased opinion.

I’d have Portal 2 and Skyrim at an equal level, and they’re both great games but I’ve not actually played any of the other games on the list so I’m probably not qualified to say…

I don’t think Portal 2 even remotely deserves GOTY. It’s a close call between Uncharted 3, Arkham City and BF3.

Gotta go with Witcher 2.

It had an excellent combat system that was challenging yet rewarding.
Visually it has to be the best looking game to come out this year hands down, and still runs better than most I find.
The choice system is the best I’ve seen in a game and games like Mass Effect with their morality systems fail to even come close.
And finally, despite being a sequel, it was a good sequel by improving on almost every aspect of the game with the possible exception being the story.
