Zune HD

Why would you even consider the touch? Buy an archos, all your problems solved, it’s 160gb, an awesome screen, wifi, touchscreen, hd videos, and it runs linux.

If you don’t go for the Zune HD, then just get a second gen Zune 120. Costs the same as a 120 gig i pod, has a bigger screen, MUCH better interface (from my point of view, never got the stupid little ring), and, perhaps best of all for music fans, Zune pass. For 15 bucks a month, you can download as many songs as you want from Zune marketplace, and at the end of each month, you choose ten songs you downloaded to keep forever.

The Pirate Bay and Rapidshare FTW.

Seriously though, if I want to spend some money on music and hone an artist I particularly like, I go to the store and buy a record. There’s not much things out there that give as much pleasure and self-accomplishment as taking vynil out of the sleeve and placing it onto the deck.

Awesome. Yeah, I’m a vinyl geek myself, I haven’t bought into any of portable music players.

That’s pretty good. I’d have to pay for shipping to the UK, but no biggie. I’ll keep it in mind
.

Well if you want mobility, you would eventually end up buying one of those.

Only thing that really grabs me is the 720P output, would be good for taking TV eps and movies around, no need to lug portable HDDs and burn discs.

Radio is good also.

But tbh, with my iPhone it’s gonna take something special for me to buy another portable media device.

Well I would love to have Top Gear 13 on it. but I won’t be surprised if Jobs will go on WDC like : “ololol guises i herd zune hd haz 720p outputz so we decided to stick it 2 our nu ipodz”
Btw Jambo, is that Freespace on your siggy?

Freespace 2 indeed

I think that’s like the only game I have the retail CD for, that and NFS3, I’ve never played it though, the CD is too dirty.

I remember playing the first one when I was about 11, when mom came and said i must trade it for something else, because she didn’t like the “depressing” soundtrack.
I tried to fight back, but the disk ended up in a trash can.
And there you go, I’ve lost my copy of freespace… forever. I wished I had headphones back then.

Holy shit!

Your parents are just like mine! :’(

nice to see Microsoft finally made a touch screen, but I think I’ll stick with my 120 gig zune i’ve never seen the point in upgrading mp3 players.

I value quality over convenience. And if you have your music all the time you sort of take it for granted and lose appreciation for it.

Agreed, sticking with mine until it breaks. Even if the hard drive isn’t big enough.

Depends on you personal views. Me myself, I listen to the music constantly. I cannot take vynils with myself, so I rip and burn it onto my portable.

Yah. In Soviet Russia, parents are… hey wait a minute…

As someone who’s never had a portable music player, how would you know?

I’ve played Dark Side of the Moon dozens of times on my iPod, and it still blows my mind every time.

Depends mostly on your headphones (or earphones, if you cannot afford a proper set).

I’ve got the most popular headphones around, the sony MDR-V150, but at home I use the sony MDR-V300

I can’t stand earbuds. They’re why “Q-tip®” is a household name.
