Recently my PC has been taking forever to load youtube videos and I can’t figure out why every other video site loads fine? At first I thought it was just my PC so I reformatted it and it’s still happening!?! I even reinstalled Firefox multiple times to no avail should I phone my isp?
It also happens to me sometimes, no idea why
I wonder if anyone else is having this problem?
Tried using Chrome or another alternative web browser?
It’s been happening to me lately too. I’m on Chrome. Some videos load super fast, while others take an eternity to buffer. Don’t know why.
Youtube hosts the videos on lots of different servers and sometimes you’re just unlucky enough to have connected to a particularly congested server.
At least that’s my theory.
I was just about ready to reformat my PC again when I tried YouTube and it’s not doing it anymore strange.
This^
Although sometimes I stumble upon a video that gets corrupted in the middle of watching and then the audio track just plays in super fast forward with garbled green squares flashing on screen, after a refresh, some quality settings are suddenly greyed out. When that happens it means the storage device that holds that video has crashed and is being replaced.
I read about Youtube instituting some thing where some videos won’t load entirely. They’re split into parts and one part will load (it’s usually the first 50 seconds or so of a video) and if you pause the video it won’t continue loading. It’s incredibly annoying.
They’ve been doing that for ages. The problem I had last week involved not loading any part of the video whatsoever, sometimes reverting to the 360p version if I was lucky (some videos loaded just fine in hd though).
The internet.
The same reason that people argue about sentence structure on a video about abortion rights.
Don’t question it.
how does that have anything to do with this thread?
What?:jizz:
Right now Youtube refuses me to watch a video at any higher resolution than 144. I select 720p and when it can’t load it, it jumps down to 480 which it can’t load either. Keeps doing it down to 144. Greying out those who it couldn’t load and stops me from selecting them.
When did 144 become an option anyway? 240 have always been the lowest option I’ve seen before.
Sometimes if it doesn’t load for me I’ll just download the video in 720p and delete it afterwards.
Exactly what’s been happening to me.
you could get better results from changing the DNS on your router to Google(8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS(208.67.222.222/208.67.220.220) then clear DNS cache and reboot PC/router
