YouTube Converter programs- Can't find any

Does anybody know a program that can converyt and upload Youtube videos to my iPod that I don’t haave to pay for? I’ve already tried Xilisoft, Youtube Clip extractor, Ares Tube and ImToo Video Converter and they’re pieces of shit without paying $20. Any help would be much appreciated.

Tje problem is i don’t know how to download videos from youtube to ipod without a converter, so a converter that doesn’t rip the videos from youtube to my ipod is useless.

Use Firefox with the DownloadHelper addon to download the video. Then use the program Handbrake to convert it to MP4 then put it on iTunes and transfer to your iPod. Hope that helps :slight_smile: .

As far as I know there’s no program that will simultaneously download and convert a Youtube video.

I’m pretty sure youtube saves all their videos by default as mp4, not just as flash. Let me check…

All you need is orbit downloader, it has a grab feature that can download any video file off youtube, just add &fmt=18 to any youtube link and refresh the page while grab is running, then download your video and rename the file to (yourvideo).mp4 NO NEED TO CONVERT!

Every time I’ve downloaded a Youtube video it’s always saved as a .flv file. You might be thinking of Veoh.

Youtube has mp4 versions of every video on their server but you have to add &fmt=18 in the address bar to make it play, that confuses most youtube downloading software, except Orbit.
