We haven’t had a Top Five list thread in awhile, so I figured it was time for another.

1-Not HL2
2-Not HL2
3-Not HL2
4-Not HL2
5-Not HL2

dead space 2. Not the fight, but the 20 minutes of stop-and-go cinematics and gameplay that wrap around it, especially the credit interrupter.

Max Payne

had a pretty satisfying amount of closure, and despite not getting to shoot the antagonist, it still felt rewarding the way you do it.

Well, I suppose you have to start somewhere.

If you include the boss battle as the end then Not HL1 either lol.

No particular order, but here’s some of mine. Just gonna give the reasons in blacktext.

Bastion - [COLOR=‘Black’]Dropping your most powerful weapon and leaving yourself defenseless while carrying the friend who had betrayed you to safety… that, along with the final song, is simply one of the very few moments in video games that has ever really stirred my emotions so powerfully.
Portal 2 -[COLOR=‘Black’]The moon shot and Cara Mia. 'Nuff said.
Megaman X - [COLOR=‘Black’]The sheer length and difficulty of the final battle makes the ending one of those times where you pump your fist in the air and celebrate because you FINALLY beat it.

No particular order. I can’t even think of all the games I’ve played right now so I may end up editing this list.

Kingdom Hearts
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater
Uncharted 2
Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time
Mass Effect 2

(not in any particular order)
-Chrono Trigger (nevermind which one :stuck_out_tongue: )
-Portal 2
-Psychonauts
-Dear Eshter
-Warcraft 3!

Homeworld 2
Bastion
Portal 2
Wingcommander III
Braid

MGS3
HL2
MP3
MP1
Predator: Concrete Jungle

Not in order:
Age of Mythology
Max Payne 1
Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway
Warcraft 3

And

“I’m the boss of this city you ugly son of a bitch”

Love that game, used to play it in my PS2

  1. Half Life 2 Episode 2 - I’ve never seen so much emotion in a game before, I cried actually.

  2. Portal 2 - Strange, hilarious and I loved the song “Cara Mia Addio”

  3. GTA San Andreas and GTA 4, both on the same level.

  4. HL2 - Although, it didn’t explain anything and was very confusing, I thought it was pretty cool, with the G-Man.

  5. Bioshock 1 - I can’t remember it correctly anymore, but I think it was very well done.

Top 5? Blimey, it’s been far too long for me to remember the last 5 endings.

Anyway, the ones I can remember and enjoyed were

  • Goldeneye (N64)
  • Half-Life 1
  • Silent Hill 5: Homecoming (end level kinda sucked, boss - as most bosses - was awesome)
  • Bioshock (Good Ending)
  • Infamous 2 (Good Ending)
  • Max Payne
  • Super Mario 64
  • Left 4 Dead 2 (The Parish Ending)

anything but Mass Effect 3

but I did like
-Mass Effect 2
-Assassins Creed 2
-Portal 2
-Half life 2 Ep. 2

What did i learn here… Best games have 2 in them

The Secret of Monkey Island

Nothing else can compare.
At least nothing I can think of.

I wouldn’t say that, but I do love the endings of all three of the first Monkey games, particularly LeChuck’s Revenge. Escape and Tales, while I think they were decent, just didn’t hold up like the first three.
