Your Top 3 Favorite Games

1: Team Fortress 2
Finding it very fun, even after about 750 hours. Really, all I play now-a-days is Versus Saxton Hale, TF2 Randomizer, and TF2Ware, but still, it entertains me.

2: Fallout: New Vegas
I’m just finding it very fun. Can’t quite put it in words, but even though I already beat the game, I am going for another ending.

3: Skyrim
Getting kind of repetitive, but that’s because my brother keeps deleting my damned saves <.<. But still, I’m enjoying it. Very fun…

You just surprised me even more.

Never heard of gog.com before? It’s THE online gaming shop for cheap old games. It’s a godsend for nostalgics.

You should also check out https://www.greenmangaming.com if you want a great alternative to Steam’s store. Almost everyday they run crazy discounts on new games and most of the time the games are cheaper than in Steam.

I can tell by your avatar

Mine would be:
Half-Life 1 because escaping Black Mesa is ssssoooooooooo much fun! And killing Nihilanth’s fat ass is fun to watch at the end. Barneys are fun to fuck with. thats all.

Half-Life 2: Slaying the combine race is top priority. I shot a combine soldier in the head with the Trusty Shotgun (double-barrel mode) and he did a FLIP! I love the physics in hl2.

DOOM series : Kick ass. nuff’ said.

1 Half Life
2 Half Life 2, Ep 1 & Ep 2
3 Left 4 Dead/L4D2

So. This was applied to Skyward Sword too.

Unfortunately.

  1. Half-Life
  2. Fallout 3
  3. Skyrim

Silent Hill 2: As a writer, I can surely say that the writing in this game combines both the melancholy and symbolism that put Steven King to shame – I assure you. I walked away from that game with something from every vector. The soundtrack was beautiful and done by Akira Yamoaka whom is now one of my favorite musicians; The voice actors are interesting people in real life aswell; And without sounding too discursive, the game made changed me into a calmer man.

Starcraft & Broodwar: This game’s simple and direct plot has to be one of the most fun and relate-able to date. It mimics American and European history realistically with a lot of well written dialogue and fun gameplay. It also separates three distinct races that you can play pending on your style -Zerg for me- and preference. The game’s cut-scenes are drenched in overwhelming violence and cutting edge dialogue. This game perfectly represents Human Being’s stero-types in a dark and wet nature. Great title.

Half Life 2: This game’s atmosphere and environment mimic my own writings and ideas so well, that I actually envy the writers for portraying it so well. I, personally, side with the Combine and adore Dr. Breen. In fact, I hate Gordon Freeman and hope he either fails at the end or realizes that what he is doing is futile or unnatural.

The limit is three, so I can’t get into Resident Evil 1-4 and Bioshock.

My favorite games are changing all the time. But for games I continually come back to and enjoy, I’d have to say Left 4 Dead 2 and the Half-Life series are definitely pretty far up the list. It’s possible Oblivion is going to join them soon; I’m 150 hrs in on my first character and atm am still largely ignoring the main quest line after having closed the gate by Bruma. What a game.

  1. Super Metroid
  2. FF7
  3. Silent Hill
Edit: I’d throw max payne1/2 on there after SH aswell.
I’m really dissapointed with the lack of older games in most of your posts.
What are you faggots 12 or something.

Spyro the Dragon
Halo
Jade empire (really god damn underrated)

Edit: Put the original Wipeout in place of Jade empire actually.

Besides the whole Half-Life series:

1. Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Gameplay is awesome, great atmosphere, and scary. :S

2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Good storyline, modern combat, (first Call of Duty I bought so there’s some additional nostalgia to me although it was just four years ago), and awesome Pripyat mission.

3. Borderlands - Long playtime, good atmosphere, interesting graphics.

  1. System Shock 2
  2. Half-Life Series
  3. Doom 3

It’s because gaming tech marches on, and sometimes it’s tough to distinguish nostalgia from actual gaming quality. Think of the original “Rocket Knight Adventures” - some people may think it’s timeless and awesome (like myself), with tight controls and ever-charming visuals, but others may simply think it’s just another Genesis era attitude rodent from their time with “Rocket Knight” (the latest game, released for XBLA/PSN. Very much in the spirit of the original but the control isn’t quite as tight).

I’m really disappointed with the lack of newer games in your post.
What are you a nostalgia faggot or something?

Frankly, we should have separate lists for both types- top three retro and top three 6/7gen.

Retro picks:

  1. Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis/Mega Drive)
  2. Shinobi III: Revenge of the Ninja Master (Genesis/Mega Drive)
  3. Urban Strike: The Sequel to Jungle Strike (Genesis/Mega Drive, NOT the SNES version. It sucks donkey gonads.)

  1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  2. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
  3. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Top 3 Retro:

1 - Doom
2 - Mortal Kombat 3
