Also, Bioshock’s 50s soundtrack was beautiful.

Half-life’s techno rock-ambiance as also very tasteful. This is the reason I don’t agree with the Black Mesa take on the soundtrack; While good on their own, the songs are too mellow-dramatic and don’t fit in some areas of Half-Life. If they don’t successfully make a track close to the tram ride song, I will be slightly let down. But as long as they allow you to add your own music, it’s okay.

The way I see it, I won’t judge the music until I’m playing the mod and seeing how it fits.

So I may never judge the music :stuck_out_tongue:
(the one track I’ve heard sounds good, but I can’t think of anywhere it would fit in HL1)

VVVVVV has some really cool music. It’s too bad the game itself is such a pain in the ass. If it weren’t so twitch-based, it’d be really fun; the “Get Ready to Bounce” section (when you rescue Vermillion) is pretty cool.
