Your favorite Boss battle?

The Boss - MGS3
Liquid Ocelot - MGS4

Five bucks someone says Nihilanth.

Oh wait, they already did.

I’m agreeing with this one. One of my all time favorites, it certainly wrapped up Twilight Princess nicely. Truly, Twilight Princess held the best boss battles of any game I’ve played.

Yeah, I know I’m a Nintendo nerd, but let’s see what else I enjoyed the most:

The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker ~ Ganon
Resident Evil 4 ~ Mendez
Bionic Commando: Rearmed ~ Albatross (a.k.a. Hitler)
Yoshi’s Island ~ Baby Bowser
Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins ~ Wario
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga ~ Popple and the Rookie
Super Smash Bros. Melee ~ GigaBowser

and one more for good measure:

Portal ~ GLaDOS

I don’t really know…picking the best boss battle for me is hard because there’s different ways to appreciate them. Some are awesome because of the strategy you have to put into them (Zelda bosses, GLaDOS), some are really satisfying to finally beat because they’re freaking hard (Abyssion from Tales of Symphonia, Weapons from FFVII), some are just cool in their presentation (Psycho Mantis and Sniper Wolf from MGS). Although I gotta say, any boss battle that used this theme in Chrono Trigger was instantly incredible for me.

GOGO AXEM RANGERS!

I think my answer would probably be FEAR 2’s Sergeant Keegan.

The Nihilanth battle was very awkward for me.
but still…
I am nearly at the end of the suicide mission in ME2 and guess what…

we heard you don’t like fighting half robot half human fetus so we made a half robot half human skeleton fetus!!!111one

Sonic 3 boss.

darth vader and the emperor on star wars the force unelashed were my favourite ones. They were really difficult to beat but equilibrated with the powers that I had discovered and they made me change the lightsaber powercristal more than one time from force strenght to saber strenght…

Also I would take Sindri from Dawn of War 1. I mean he turned into a daemon prince god damn it! that made my day when dark crusade wasn’t out yet.

Boss Battles?
For some reason, I derived a certain sick joy in the final battle in Assassin’s Creed 2; Yeah, it’s just a punch-out with the fat man, but still, you’re beating up the freakin’ POPE.

Also, I took a liking to some of Dead Space’s bosses. They’re all so big and
E.P.I.C.
That combined with Isacc’s flailing strive for survival really makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something when you kill one.

I have to add an other one, as I found fighting these two to be quite humorous:

Popple and the Rookie
Popple and Birdo

Why can’t we be alone, darling, speaking the language of love?

Oh, and. . .

GigaBowser

fist fight with Liquid from MGS

Diablo from Diablo 1

D’sparil from Heretic

Eidolon from Hexen 2

Armagon from Quake 1: Scourge of armagon.

Prince of Persia:

 1. Fighting the passive guard (took ages to find the strategy)
 2. Fighting your ghost (so many players killed themselves there)

Albion:

 1. The Khamulos - god

 2. The Artifficial Intelligence in the end (I think the most epic about that one was to cast “Show life” in first round and discover that it has 5000 hit points (while party average was 80); the fight itself only lasted 2 rounds, after which there’s a non-interactive even and the game ends in victory.)

 3. Unreal Tournament (the first one) + Unreal Tournament 2004 – the final enemy fighting you in low gravity space ship 1 on 1.

Metal slug x first level boss, shootin shit up with a camel never was so much fun!

Doom II, John Romero’s Head :awesome:

Any of the bosses in World of Warcraft. Love the extensive strategies and teamwork required to take them down. Loved some of em like Vashj and Kael’thas.

Also indeed, Ganon in Twilight Princess.

C&C Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, Core Defender!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krLUV4Zt9_k&feature=related that thing is stinking hard! it destroyed my base is 3 mins!

Brad ~ Comic Jumper

Any of the bosses from any of the Metal Gear Solid games. All are such memorable fights, between the strategies, the mid-fight dialogs, the story behind the character you’re fighting, etc.

Any of the Diablo bosses (most notably, the Warlord of Blood in D1, Diablo himself in D1, and all the act bosses in D2).

GLaDOS - very comical, but strategic as well. A nice finish to the game.

This!
How was his name? Vergil?..that battle was great, plus, both characters can turn into demons and it becomes even better :c

Oh and another boss battle I like…actually, the entire game is about boss battles, Shadow of the Colossus

Around 16 boss battles, some better than others, but all of them are amazing!

Did you play the game before the first expansion? If you did, and you raided, you would see how simple (in comparison) most of Molten Core’s bosses were.

I’m personally not a huge fan of boss battles most of the time. I don’t hate them, but I usually don’t care either way if they are in or not.
