Your best "What the hell is wrong with me!?" moment related to BMS.

-Having non-gamer wifey walk past me, see what site I was on, and say “Isn’t that crap OUT yet?”

-Checking the forums on my phone while in an interview with an Office of Civil Rights investigation lawyer (knitting my brow and nodding slowly…)

-Checking in, seeing the Xmas decorations on the Main Page, and keeping it open in the background while I got my work done 'cause I KNEW right when I clicked back there was going to be an update or some news to devour!

-Audible saying “Aw, shit!” when there wasn’t anything special, and having to tell my wife why I was saying “Aw, shit!” if front of the kids.

…you?

There was this one time where I didn’t let my impatience make me an incompetent worker/irresponsible parent.

Well that was a dick thing to say. -_-

But I don’t really have anything like what u said Miriam.

when grim and frostbitten necrobobsledders stole my cobbler while gorbachev shadow boxed in the farmyard.

Well, when I first heard of the mod I automatically replayed the whole HL2 saga… still trying to get some achievements.

There have been multiple times where I thought I should be nice to the noobs so that someone would give me a ban hammer and I could waste them, but I always have to tell them just how stupid they are and then everyone thinks I would not be a good moderator for some reason.

EDIT: Ramrezoid +1

In my first week on the forum - somewhere between four and five years ago now - I started a poll, without knowing that the devs don’t particularly like polls. I practically begged to not be banned. (And wasn’t.)

@Midian316 - Sounds like you have a serious BM jones going on. You might just need a shift in perspective. It was a cool idea all those years ago: HL-S was a disappointment with no new models/textures, etc, so we’ll make a proper HL-S with updated graphics, co-op mode, etc. Great idea - I thought so, too.

Here’s your perspective shift: It’s almost 2011. Co-op has been shitcanned and the Ep2 engine is about a year from being as outdated as the Goldsource engine was when the project was conceived.

That doesn’t mean that it won’t be interesting to see what they did or won’t be fun to play through, but it’s not something to bust a nut over in a business meeting or cause you to have to explain to your wife why your baby’s first word to Grandma was ‘pigfucker’ (although that IS a great word).

You’ll probably get Portal 2 in April, and Ep 3 later in the year - 2 NEW games worth the jones for a HL fan. You’ve already played HL.

In my first few week in this forum, people really told me to read more English and called me troll. That really made me angry. :stuck_out_tongue:

There was once where i told myself that black mesa source isnt coming out, and taught myself to live with it.

Eric: I think you should read more English, you troll.

Back in 2006, I made an account on the forums just to download some attachment I was looking for on Google. Then, almost a year later I googled “half life 1 source mod” and landed right back here, where I lurked for almost a month before I finally decided to sign up, and was surprised that my username wasn’t available for registration.

My best “what the hell is wrong with me?” moments would have to be the moment in which I made the username I go by on these forums, and the time where Raminator repeatedly kicked me in under a minute as I kept reentering the steam chat.

Now that make me a happy teenager.

When I lurked on here for 3 years without making an account. Then I made one and it seems like a lot of people are gone.

Yeah, when I was lurking I went through lots of BM’s old forums (2004-2006) shit used to be awesome.

Indeed, lolipopman?

Now, this just sad… :frowning:

Edit: crap double post.

every time I log in and post something on this forum

Hur Hurr very original, every “whats the most fucked up thing you’ve done” thread on /b/ results in someone posting “posting on /b/”

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
