reviewtech doesn’t understand that what started adblock wasn’t the “good” ads, it was the ads that are a danger if any casual non-tech savvy person is using the computer, the ads that run the old rick-roll script (start a million unclosable flash video popups) that auto-play a toolbar that comes pre-loaded with more adware and spyware that turns every PC that’s not running the latest version of Windows into part of a botnet and a paperweight.
it’s only after adblock became popular and reliable that the bar was raised for the quality of ads, google also played a major part with their text-only ads that are easy to identify on any site
