Someone going 65 (in a 35 mph zone) decided to go off the road into my apartment complex’s parking area, at 03:45 in the morning last night.
He swiped one car’s tail light,
totaled my trunk (rotating my car 80 degrees from how it was parked),
brought my car into the rear of a Mazda 6 (crushing that irreparably, too),
and continued into a fourth car, a full-size Buick.
That Buick was pressed into the minivan beyond it.
It gets better.
These cars were parked alongside the building. By hitting my beautiful car so ferociously, he sent my vehicle’s front through a one-foot thick brick-&-cinder-block wall next to my window. (I like to park where I can see my car from bed, you see.)
The bed was just inside that window, head to the glass. There is a very real possibility that I would have been killed if I had been in bed sleeping then instead of living a nocturnal lifestyle.
First of all: Congrats on such a nice pimpmobile. Second; thank your gods for whatever consolegame you were playing at the time in the living room, third; haven’t you allready dealt with crime in the us? I mean the deathpenalty should discourage anyone from doing stupid things like this. Or is it still “third strike you’re outtaheeer”? That seems to be the work of some crackhead or drunkdriver…good thing is , you survived. Now, it’s time to get even
I’ve gotten everything moved out of the bedroom, with a crew cleaning it up, to prepare a temporary support and barrier (since the exterior wall is load-bearing),
everything except for the modem. Hooray. I like these guys, they understand that the finer things in life are not to be tampered with.
When I first read the title of the thread, I was afraid it would be SwampFox aka Triage aka Many-other-alt-accounts showing off his retarded philosophy to the world or something retarded like that.
Busted lip, mangled teeth, and disorientated as fuck from hitting the steering wheel face-first.
He’s alive because of how gigantic and roomy my trunk was-- the trunk evaporated and absorbed a lot of the impact. If he hit the center or front of my car, he would have been a lot worse. I forgot to fill the trunk with bodies (as would be expected in a vehicle like mine). If I had known in advance that this would happen, I would have made it more of a spectacle.
The [driver] tried talking with me; he seemed relieved that no bystanders were harmed. I’d feel more vengeful if he were more alert, but he was rather out of it-- he was just in a car accident, the only one injured, so cut him some slack… everything else is just property.
He was trying to tell me that he was a passenger and not the driver (…surveillance footage of the accident shows him as the only person getting out of the truck). He told me that he was unlicensed to drive, as if that would rule out the possibility he was driving.
I really don’t care about hating the guy… I trust “the system” to impart what is just. He really screwed up, driving drunk is my guess, and he’ll feel the burn of this for a long time.
Now, I’d like to give a shoutout to my friendly neighbors, some of whom hung around outside, that chilly morning, even though their cars weren’t involved.
A vigilant neighbor upstairs had called the police as soon as he heard the cacophony. He was also the one to come out first and disengage the truck’s ignition. Dude, I salute you.
Furthermore, Pensacola Police are an awesome bunch, and they were on the scene by the time I managed to fish my phone from the bedroom. Which was, like, a minute or two.
They’re always there when you need them, and they never hassle you when you don’t. I can’t help but love them. Plus, their cars have that typical badass-cop paint scheme.
Also, to dude who helped remove bricks from my bedroom:
Thank you for recovering [most of] my hood ornament. With a car that’s been in the family for so long, that little emblem means a lot to me.
The long-awaited link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtg_sNWI74A
“Video Responses” will lead you from the 1st video to the 13th video I took this morning.
Also, they found a body floating in the nearby bay today. That just never happens around here. I wonder if it’s related.
