Yea and naysayers, a word for the devs

I have the perfect solution to everyones problem in the thread. There should be a bitching section. This section will be for all those people who like to bitch about not getting any updates, and basically want to rehash all the crap that has already been said before.

And this section will be for all those bitching at the bitchers to go at bitch about people bitching.

All I see is a bunch of people saying the same damn things over and over and over again, including the bullies.

My $.02

Yo dawg, you belong in the 3rd section.

Oh god, now they are going to whine about the soundtrack release date.

These people who keep posting these threads need to do 1 thing, and that is continue on with their lives.

Seriously, this mod not being released isn’t stopping you from living is it? (if it is you got problems)

There are a ton of games that can fill the void while you wait and don’t think about BM. Or you could just get a bunch of graphics updates for HL1 and play that. You can also focus on your RL issues too, or go hang out with friends more.

A lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment too, as if you want a perfect 1:1 remake of HL1, this mod will probably disappoint you as it takes some liberties and differences in game design.

Also, be glad this mod isn’t gone like so many others. A ton of mods just up and die after so much work, and the fact that this one has survived for so long really says something about the dedication from the devs, despite RL’s interference.

Sometimes I think the devs would’ve been better off if they just said it died and then when they are done working come out and surprise everyone. Would’ve at least prevented a lot of the “DURR HURRR MEDIAZ” people.

Since you failed so hard i had to help you a bit.

I’m perfectly fine biding my time with other HL2 mods until release.

I don’t think anyone has responded to this bit:

What is the reasoning behind this? Regardless of the mod’s popularity, it will still be documented proof of the devs’ abilities that they can show off to employers.

And it’s not likely that it could have become so popular that it would spread to pop culture and get the attention of employers to seek them out. The exception of course is Valve itself, who have already been keeping an eye on the project for obvious reasons, and will surely continue to do so regardless of whether others lose interest.

So what, precisely, do they have to lose?

Basically he’s trying to ‘subtley’ say that he knows what developers are looking for, and this is keeping your fans happy with daily updates like every developer does.

= So because your a hard done to person and have been let down so many times, its up to these guys to rekindle your belief in humanity by releasing information.

A mod doesn’t require the dedication of the fans AT ALL. If the devs want to make it they’l make it at the end of the day regardless of support. So don’t believe them, thats your decission, the fact you don’t isn’t going to change peoples views to fit around your fragile view of the world.

What support are you giving them? You’ve told one guy years ago about the mod, WOW. What unshaking, unbelievably important support. You don’t have the hype for the mod anymore, so therefore it is up to the devs to give you that back. W-T-F?

It’s self righteous self important **** like this that drives me insane with these people.

They owe you nothing and the second this mod is released the word will spread through the internet like wildfire, with literally everyone who mods HL2 downloading it. To think otherwise is just idiocy.

Give you your nieve hype back? Give me the minute I spent reading that back. Oh thats an idiotic thing to say? Yeah…

You know what I find interesting? The concept being put forth that it is important at this point to keep people interested, and keep the fans up to date on the status, as if it would matter when it actually releases. Updates and status statements aren’t going to make the game come out any sooner. The fanbase for the original Half-Life fan base is HUGE. The portion of the fanbase that will LOVE a quality remake is just as huge. SOOO even if the dev team never made a single announcement through the WHOLE development after all these years IT WOULDN’T MATTER. That is what I find amusing. I can’t believe that people can’t see this fact…

…I kinda think they do actually, but by trying to make it seem like it isn’t the case, they hope to get more information which they want by trying to make it seem like it’s in the devs interest and not their own. It’s so transparent it’s funny.

Agreed. Once the soundtrack releases (thereby announcing the mod’s imminent release), the Internet will explode.

i think i will pass out, and then wake up at the release

:hmph:
Black Meas isn’t going to be released

fixed for optimism

Exactly! That’s the reason there that they haven’t released it- it’s an internet destroying WMD. They’ll get arrested if they do release it. They have to delay release until their lawyers sort it out with the DOD :retard:

Black Meas is already released.

Not funny.

I call shenanigans.

It has been released, you people have just been sucked into a time-distorting bickering-vortex.

Easy on the time distortion Captain Janeway.
