Xbox 360 games vs. PS3 games

As I’ve already said, fanboys have no place here.

This.

I hate people who are just against consoles because they don’t have it or are just hating on it because their friends do. I mainly play games on PC, but i still own a PS3 and enjoy it and have nothing against the 360 since it’s equally as good as the PS3 in different areas.

Fanboys get out.

PS3s and Xbox 360s are equal hardware wise in my opinion. The PS3’s Cell is way more powerfull than the 360’s 3 core Xenon, but the 360 has 512MB RAM while the PS3 has a mere 256MB. What I don’t understand is why Micro$oft is charging $50/£40 or whatever for Xbox Live while PSN is free. Seriously, what the hell are you paying for?

From what I’ve heard, Xbox Live is a more reliable service. I certainly don’t mind paying for it.

This was worth quoting.

Back on topic - the simplest answer to your question is, “The one that has games you like.”

If you’re looking for the best bang-for-buck, I’d recommend the PS3 - game console, Web browser, BluRay player, and it can run Linux (if you are interested in using it as a pure PC, since it supports USB mice/keyboards).

If you want to play a specific console-only game (i.e. Halo or MGS) then pick the one that supports that game.

For people on tight budgets, console-specific titles are a major PITA, and lack of cross-platform multiplayer is damaging to the community. As an example, my family and girlfriend split the cost of getting me a 360 Elite as a Christmas present (since a few of my friends also have 360s and frequently play MP together).

However, I’m a huge MGS fan, and I’m unable to play MGS4 until I set aside the money to get a PS3 (which, truth be told, probably won’t happen because I’m primarily a PC-gamer, and I wouldn’t buy a system for just 1 game). So I have to make the most of the 360. Even then, I have friends who play some multi-platform games on their PS3, but I’m unable to play in MP with them due to a lack of cross-platform MP support.

I can almost understand prohibiting cross-platform MP between PC and console (hardware differences, input device differences, etc) but if a publisher puts a game out for both the PS3 and 360, why not integrate the multiplayer? I would be more inspired to buy games for my 360 if I could play them online with my PS3 buddies.

I’m going to jump into this thread with hardly any reading past the first few posts. Being a pcfag, I don’t know a whole lot about either console, but there is one thing that I have noticed; for social gaming and gaming networking, 360 wins hands down. This may not be true for others, but for me the majority of people I know own 360s. If somebody is having a gaming party, it’s gonna be a 360. The biggest advantage consoles have over pc is splitscreen and social gaming, but these advantages are wasted if no one else you know has and plays the console. If you want to play splitscreen and play system link with your friends, which is the biggest advantage consoles have over pcs, get a 360.

Also, the Halo series is epic. ODST fell a little short, but I’ve played the Reach beta and it is amazing!!!

my opinion is that 360>PS3 in games. Castle Crashers and Halo 3/ODST/Reach :3

Then again the Ps3 has MGS4, Killzone 2, God of War 3 and Heavy Rain to name a few. But it’s a matter of taste only. I like both, but none is better than the good old Game Boy Color.

Well said.

Also Shadow Complex for the 360.

PS3 FOREVER. Xbox has PONG graphics compared to PS3. And on top of that…

The RROD is back.:pirate:

PS3 definitely, most of its exclusive producing companies like Guerilla and Polyphony Digital are owned by Sony, while microsoft cuts corners to save a buck in the short term and sign contracts for “timed-exclusives” or just purchase an IP. Bungie & Bizzare Creations both got bought out by activision who produces multi-platform titles. And giving PS3 more of a lean in my view because it seems like the 360’s exclusives are dropping like flys. And, to be honest, i actually like hearing delays for games, because 9/10 times they turnout to be amazing nods toward BMS team, and i give respect toward them if the wait was worth it. Seeing that BMS got delayed again, I can now confirm this to be THE mod to get, hands down. Just look at you guys, i rarly see loyalty like this for any game, and you guys haven’t even wrapped your hands around it yet. Back to my point, YOU yourself have to decide what you want in a system, be it cynimatics or badass gameplay, RPG-s, Racers, shooters, in the end its personal perspective, so stop listening to us and go do some REAL research and rent each console & some games to test out. Pick your poison, they both have faults and major pros too (again with the poison picking), just ignore fanboys, they usually end up driving peoples rep into the ground (just play MW2 online for 10 min., horrible shit). Or you can just get one to re-aquaint yourself with some old titles you miss or have been ported, yep I fell in love with Half-life by playing that “crappy PS3 port”, and today I refuse to sell the same copy because of loyalty & the same thing for my old as hell PS1 games too! But then again there’s Steam… wait that’s another thread. One more thing, as you can see im new hereputs flame suit on, but can someone message me on how to make a new thread or how to become more than a cockroach! Thanks in advance.

The graphics are pretty much the same, actually.

Get out, you fanboy fag.

That still doesn’t excuse the RRODS’ return… :stuck_out_tongue:

I fail to see how it’s returned.

That’s because you haven’t seen it man…Its’ red eye is like the sharingan…

It stares at you…and kills you…

It’s gonna destroy us all…and i’m not exaggerating.

there both good in different ways

But ones horrible in one way… which is why… PS3 FOREVER.

Right, I haven’t seen it and I’ve owned a 360 for three years.

Sarcasm doesn’t work on the internet dude. But nice try.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
