Would You Play Multiplayer?

the post i quoted was a reply to my post about cod1/2/4 :retard:

And I’ll probably try it out, play it occasionally if it’s fun.
If there were some simple search and destroy-like gametype it could be great for clans to form if it’s popular enough, but that’s probably not gonna happen.

No, I will not play the multiplayer to Black Mesa. I don’t care if they release the multiplayer or not.

Yup, same here. I would probably fire it up a few times to reminisce the good ol’ HLDM era but as a gamer I’m totally over multiplayer.

I will grief multiplayer yes

Oooohhh…Well that changes things, I’ll pretend that argument never happened

How do you grief a deathmatch game?

It’s not so much “realism” that gets to me as it is people thriving for something that is simply imposable.

If I’m looking at a screen, and got my had wrapped around a mouse, then it can’t be very realistic can it?

I never saw the point in bothering to go for that kind of gameplay for realism when realism simply can’t be done the way we currently execute fpss.

In other words, someone call me when that VR hampsterball tech gets big. Then we’ll talk realism.

On topic: you can grief a DM game by idling, cherry picking, suiciding before you get killed, all that shit.

I wouldn’t call that griefing as much as I would call that being a retard.

difference?

I’m guessing you mean impossible.

You need to learn the difference between virtual reality & realism. Aside from perfect 1:1 ratio body-input, smell-o-vision, tactile feedback & all that other ridiculous shit that requires as of yet uninvented (or horribly impractical) virtual reality hardware to work with, what facet of reality can’t be done in games not due to hardware restrictions? The only thing I can think of is having a full conversation with an npc & I know even that will be achievable within my lifetime.

You know, simple aiming isn’t really much to ask for.

You aim with your crosshair in HL. Isn’t that simple enaugh?

I’m just talking about using the sights. It’s more fun.

First, bitching about lack of trigger discipline or whatever and now suggesting to have iron-sights in the mod? Are you a fucking moron or have you not realized BMS won’t add any realism features to the classic HL1 gameplay it is supposed to recreate to a high degree of fidelity?

All I said was that being able to use sights on the weapons in a game is more fun.

Would Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament be more fun with iron-sights? No.

Your logic is flawed.

Certain features in games need to have context behind them.

CoD and Battlefield can get away with having iron sights because they’re all about putting you in the shoes of highly specialized soldiers in a world that is supposed to be like real-life.

In Half-Life you’re controlling a scientist with barely any military training in a world with aliens from another dimension and teleporters and sci-fi guns.

See the difference?

Well, I can only speak for myself. There really wasn’t any logic there to be flawed, anyways.

Lol, we’re really wasting our time arguing like this. It’s a bit nerdy.

Remember not to bring up that point again then. Iron sights and BM don’t get along.

maxey, it’s not about the game’s fiction or content, it’s about the type of fps

cod and the likes are quasi tactical shooters which lean more towards slow controlled fire/action, while hl and the likes are simply about speed and the action (as far as combat is concerned)

Aww, it’s so cute when you two try to be so logical and serious.
Unfortunately you’re both dead wrong, again. The reason there are no iron sights is because you will take black mesa the way the devs give it to you and bloody well like it.

Ow yes, you will take it and you will like it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
