Would You Play Multiplayer?

^ deeeeeerp

What about it do you find fun? Is it the visual perspective of aiming down the sights? The trade-off between speed, FOV, accuracy & etc? Or is it something like all the effects that often get slathered on with it, like excessive depth-of-field?

I find it fun because that’s the way it is in actuality. When I go shooting, I don’t blast away like Rambo/Freeman. Because of this, I appreciate realism a lot more than most when it comes to firearms in video games. So it does bug a bit when you’re constantly firing from the hip.

It’s like when you watch that one “Half Life” fan movie thing, and the zombies don’t have headcrabs, and they run around. :stuck_out_tongue:

For you. You obviously prefer a slower approach that doesn’t require fast and avanced movement nor precise aiming.

For me it is more fun to do a wall-dodge-jump to cross a huge gap while firing a precise shot with the lightning gun to weaken the enemy while I approach. Right before landing I fire a rocket to his feet to weaken him forther and then switch to the minigun to finish him off.

See, everybody prefers a different style.

Most of the styles we know are NOT in this mod because THIS mod is here to recreate HL1 style. Do you understand that?

Goddamn, what the hell makes you think I don’t? I’m just talking about this crap, in general. Anybody else wanna jump in and repeat the same thing as above to make themselves feel good or whatever? Christ.

Black Mesa better not have aliens, that shit is unrealistic.

you know there is a reason they’re doing things the way they are, right? they dont just do things because “lol youll take it”

okay im too easily trolled so  @me

I guess what I was trying to say is; would it bug you if you were constantly (except for sprinting) aiming down the sights? I mean, if everything else was the same, except the gun was aligned so you’re looking down the sights, but far enough away to not obstruct much of the screen, would it be enough for people to stop bitching about the lack of sights?

Not saying this for half-life specifically, but maybe a game like Deus Ex where you could holster your weapon.

I cant believe you guys are actually arguing about this, there will be no ironsights in Black Mesa PERIOD! so move on, and to answer the Ops question of COURSE I will play DM.

Soooooooooo… iron sights would be awesome in bm…

run. think. shoot. live.
not
run. think. aim. live.

I like Iron Sights FPS, but this is a remake of Half-Life 1 which is supposed to retain the spirit of the original game. And none of the sequels has Iron Sights, so it would never make much sense anyway.

run. think. aim. die.

Shut the fuck up already about ironsight ffs.

Lets talk about other stuff, like how raunchy can our custom decals/sprays be?

Eh, depends. Seems like it would inevitably be obtrusive.

I really hope you never have to use a firearm.

Yeah, let’s.

Ha, yeah. Let’s have a screen icon that says “NOT PORN” on a monitor somewhere. :stuck_out_tongue:

Personally, i am always looking for a multiplayer experience to enjoy. MP is always what keeps me coming back. As long as the experience is of sound quality, i’ll probably hop on it.

Totally
HL Multiplayer was my fisrt ever Multiplayer experience (with a 28.something kbps connection at first =OP)
…then it was a blast at Lans with friends or at the Internet Cafe
No one was allowed to take Oddjob (007 - Internet Cafe had downloaded characters 4 MP)
…reminiscing…

My first online experience was also HL1DM, and then i moved onto TFC. God i loved it.

Same here! TFC was awsome
…though I’ve never tried Team Fortress 2…
Anyway, Black Mesa MP will be a nice way to remember the good old days

:open_mouth: oh my GOD, how could you not try TF2? its freaking awsome, i played tfc and it was god awsome then tf2 and it has more than surpased its expectations, I will probably play the bm multiplayer as long as there are players

Let’s not get into TF2 right now. I don’t feel like arguing over how fucking dumb it is that they’ve made it into an FPSRPG.

Fuck valve btw.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
