bscly.
fix’d
And C&C4 as well.
Also special mention for Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising :fffuuu:
Red Alert 3
For me the worst sequels are
C&C4 - If it’s good or not doesn’t matter, it just lost all of the “tiberium-universe”-feeling.
Far Cry 2 - Jack? Mutants? Tropical Islands? Same as with C&C.
Far Cry 2 was made by Ubisoft and not Crytek, thats why it sucks =)
wat
that would explain so much…
Ubisoft Montreal developed Far Cry 2
C&C4
Age of Empires 3. It tried to be Age of Mythology and AOE at the same time, and it was nowhere as good as the 1st 2.
Super Mario Bros 2.
Was just Doki Doki Panic (some other crappy game) with the 4 main character sprites replaced. Half arsed failure of a sequel.
episode one
EP1 isn’t really a sequel, merely HL2.5. Same setting, same gameplay.
For movies, I would have to say the worst sequels were:
Terminator Salvation (Left out most of the things that felt like the Terminator)
Diary of the Dead (Blair Witch Zombies never got good until halfway through. Had to watch it across two days it was so bad)
Star Wars Episode 2 (The only thing that saved this movie was the Clone Wars and Yoda kicking ass. Even Episode 3’s shit was more bearable than 2)
Star Trek (It would have been better if Abrams didn’t try to blind me, actually used Uhura like he should, rather than just have her be there to make out with Spock [which didn’t even make sense, and was never explained], and had it not used just sooo much sarcastic humor and in-jokes. It could have been a good representation of the crew, had Uhura actually made sense, and had Checkov and Sulu not been so forgettable. Oh, and the ships were ugly as hell. They could update them and still make them not ugly, but they didn’t)
In games:
Doom 3 (Run down corridor, shoot shotgun, turn, shoot, keycard, run, shoot, level over.)
Unreal Championship (Took everything good about Unreal Tournament and shat on it. Worst representation of the consolization of a game.)
Bad Company 2 (Everything about this game is great…but the story of the first one was amazing because it was different. The story in this one is bland because it’s not.)
I could come up with more, but I wanted to keep it in the vein of things that I’ve played/seen, so…
ODST was an expansion though… Like the HL:2 episodes but less attached to the main arc and less mandatory to the story.
Halo3 was a disappointment, but it took necessary steps in the evolution of the series. It’s fun as FUCK playing the game WHILE editing the level… even though Forge is a sorry excuse for an editor.
And theatre is a feature EVERY game should have.
And what the fuck was wrong with Star trek’s ships?
One that Reach will revive.
And three times the cost.
If it was just $40 though…
Well, there’s 13 maps too. Plus the privelage to play a game half a year before it’s release.
Microsoft fucked over Bungie as much as us though. What MS did with ODST is exactly WHY Bungie left, and why they’ve reinstated the Marathon license to to combat the Halo series.
I’m sure Marathon returning will bring about a better series of games. And if that comes back, that means System shock needs to be reborn too and kick Bioshock’s ass.
Well, I already owned 10 of those maps via DLC. And once the beta is over…
Still, great game. Bad price.
Well, I’d rather see Bungie work on a new IP. But really, if brining back Marathon is what it takes to punish Microsoft for turning their baby into a corporate whore, then it must be done!
When Bungie decides to build that catapult to the sun, I want Bill Gates to be the first to go!
LOZ Links Adventure
The second Mario game
Anything that’s a sequel to what Westwood did but is now made by EA
New sonic games (hopefully the new 2d one won’t suck)
