World Cup South Africa 2010

:hmph:

Pele loves money as much as anyone. He played for Cosmos in the USA, not becasuse MLS is great, but because of the money.

I didn’t say he didn’t love money. He also surely loved the crowd cheering for him, after all, who doesn’t? He did make a lot of money from TV commercials, movies, and playing in USA after he decided to retire. However, I have the strong feeling that he didn’t let the money or the fame diverge his attention from his objective. That is what made him the king of football, it’s a matter of priorities.

Pele debuto con un pibe.

Wow you people complain about having drama in football when you’re the ones creating it over here.

Before you all came with the “football is violent waste of money” and “who’s more passionate” this was just a thread to say who you’re cheering for and comment the games and the overall event. Now this looks like a Massdebating thread.

Cut the crap will ya? And if you still want to discuss the philosophy of human mass stupidity on idolizing a sport to the point of getting violent, or decide which country or player is less greedy and more honorable you can all create a thread on the Massdebating Hall, as I don’t see how’s that related to the World Cup.

On topic: great game by Germany today, but I was a little disappointed on Australia (not that I expected that much from them). Also a big sadface to Serbia :frowning: , silly penalty cost them a tie; hope they get back on their feet in their next games and manage to qualify.

Sorry, I was carried away by the discussion :retard: I just hate when people try to blow your excitement away for no reason.

On topic: Today my father was complaining that this World Cup was kinda weak, no team scored more than one goal en each match. After Germany played, I told him he just had to wait for the good teams to get in the field. I loved the game  So much goddamn beautiful passes and shots to the goal.

About Serbia vs Ghana, Serbia doesn’t have a good team anyway, it doesn’t deserve a vacancy on the knock-out finals. Ghana was playing much more beautifully, they deserved the victory.

I’m cheering for Ghana to get classified over Australia, so let the Australians eat a bit of that artificial grass of the field :stuck_out_tongue:

(Artificial grass? So sad… :frowning: )

Brazil’s goleada is on Tuesday. I think we will see a 4 x 0. Anything less than that is Dunga’s fault

Today Italy - Paraguay

Go paraguay!

And japan - cameroon right now, I thought it was gonna be an easy one for cameroon, but gah :S…

Os japoneses comeram camarão no espeto :stuck_out_tongue:

Even though I hate soccer, I still watched today. Silly Denmark and their shenanigans.

I watched most of the WC games, especially liked how the germans played, although I can’t say the aussies gave them too hard of a time.

What really gets on my nerves is the frequent foul faking nowadays. The refs don’t help any by showing the yellow cards left, right and center either. 90% of the players who fall down and twitch in agony after some collision simply get up and walk away seconds after the ref gives a free kick.

an we won 4:0 vs. australia - because australia sucks in soccer haha

Yeah well, but, every soccer player does that, when I played for my team (local one, I played around 5 years, till I turned 18) even the dt told us to do it, and it helps sometimes…even though I don’t think I’d do that if I was a professional player, there’s too much risk when they have one huge screen repeating every highlight xD

Italy 1 - Paraguay 1

That was a great match, very dramatic! and paraguay did very, very well vs the last champion

Português? No meu fórum do Black Mesa? :fffuuu:

É que em inglês não faria sentido

Brazil 2 x 1 North Korea!

I underestimated North Korea. While they did not play all that well, their game was closed, defensive, so it was difficult for Brazil score. They did quite a good job holding Brazil back for 45 minutes.

Then Brazil showed what Brazilians are made of :freeman:

And that Kaka’ has forgot the way he used to play soccer, hope he does better in the next match

^ I am obligated to agree :frowning:

but that was a nice game

Felt bad for the dude who cried at Korea’s anthem. He should have scored that goal instead of that other guy. He’s actually pretty good (and the fact that he was the one that assisted the goal proves that, it was a pretty accurate head pass); hope he gets to score a few goals on Portugal/Ivory Coast before he goes home.

Vuvuzuela + Keanu Reeves = Chuck Norris

Chile 1 - Honduras 0

I don’t like chile but oh well, good for Bielsa

Now it’s turn for Spain to play, the real candidate for this world cup, over germany, england, netherlands, argentina, brazil, italy, etc

Let’s see what they can do
