One of the minimum requirements for The Witcher 2 is a 2.2 ghz dual core processor. I have a gaming laptop that has all the other requirements more than met but it has a 2.0 ghz processor. I can OC it with setfsb (bios won’t let me) easily to 2.2 but do I even really need to do that and will my processor, even if I OC it, bottleneck my game performance?
If it’s a CPU heavy game, then you’ll probably suffer a bit from that. If not, the rest of your hardware may be able to compensate.
I’ve found that if they say “minimum requirements” they mean “minimum requirements to maintain 15 FPS”. I may have just been unlucky in that regard but still, I’d say it probably won’t run too well.
If its not a shader model thing you’ll be able to play. But it will probably lag like balls.
If you’ve seen the gameplay videos, especially with the ‘junk armour’ monster boss-thing, it might be easier to understand why it needs 2.2Ghz for all the stuff flying about. Unfortunately, my gaming laptop (that runs almost everything on high on DX9) is already worrying about it, with only 2.0Ghz to play with… :’(
What a dumb logic is that? Derp if I overclock my cpu from 2ghz to 2.2 ghz I can play the game heraDurp. Minimum requirements can be ignored easily because they never seem to be realistic.
my question was more than that
what kind of processor does your laptop have specifically? a 2.0 ghz core 2 quad, i series (i5, i3), or an atom processor > 2.2 ghz core 2 duo
