Windows can't check for updates

I have 8 updates waiting for my laptop and then when i try to install them it says:

Some updates were not installed

code 80244019

I have searched everywhere for a solution and i can not find one.

please can anyone provide me a solution :frowning:

If you’re trying to update Internet Explorer 8, I hear, in certain cases, there’s a problem that keeps your system from updating/uninstalling it.

IIRC 80244019 means there’s a connection problem with the server. Is the problem recent?

THIS IS THE SOLUTION.

NO UPDATES = PROBLEM SOLVED.

I hate all the ‘suggestions’ that no updates are a good thing. For all its faults, the windows updates do generally fix security holes etcetera, and are not a bad thing in my opinion.

Anyway, Windows update can have issues. I know I had some with my laptop. When it says eight updates are waiting, have you got it set to download them and then notify you that it can install them, or are they not yet downloaded? That should narrow down to whether it is a connection problem or not, I think.

i use Firefox and i only have Windows internet explorer 7

I have the option set to “install updates automatically”
