Judging by the pattern, this is supposed to be the good one, right? :retard:
In all seriousness, it sounds like they at least understand some of why 8 wasn’t as well-received as they would have hoped. Hopefully they’ll be doing something about it.
wow, what a short life cycle. you pay for an OS something like 150€ and one or two years later they want you to buy a new one, which is essentially the same, except for a few little tweaks here and there and a slightly different GUI…
M$ just keeps shooting itself in the foot over and over. And I really don’t like it because Apple is worse and I don’t want them taking more of the market share.
If Microsoft just keeps digging their own grave, I hope gaming gets more prominent on Linux
it’s not if but when
Honestly with a lot of the software titans I feel their power is waning. The free open source system is, well free and open source, and slowly catching up in content and quality.
they better add an option to use the age-old, legacy desktop format, and i expect an improvement from from windows xp or 7 in that realm
as long as i dont have to have that tablet UI forced down my throat (i may try it out from time to time, but nothing will keep me from my legacy desktop), i will make a switch from 7
I’d say Windows 8.1 kind of is recommendable but if you still have 7 just wait and see what 9 brings to the table.
With 8.1 you can skip the Modern UI altogether and it actually feels like the natural evolution of 7 in some respects, but if 9 brings back some of the nice stuff from 7 while building upon the proper improvements from 8, I’ll probably upgrade in a heartbeat, although MS will most likely find a way to ruin it somehow.
Don’t they always with the last two Windows? (err, 8 and 8.1, ok, probably one…) That and Vista? And I heard 2000 also sucked dick.
ME was the Windows that sucked dick, 2000 was awesome.
Mea culpa.
But ME was short for Millenium if I remember right, so that’s where that shot came from.
ME was some mutant child of an attempt at taking ms-dos support out of Windows 98 and add some features from Windows NT but in the end it was just a shitty, unstable, buggy piece of shit OS.
Windows 2000 was a real update to Windows NT and then XP was the definitive home version of 2000.
Windows 98/ME were the last Windows with real MS-DOS support and from 2000 forwards, all Windows versions are based on NT.
