The Wii is an exercise machine.
:fffuuu:
They’ll call it the Ybox instead of Xbox.
DirectY would be new to me.
It’s a shame that Microsoft rejected this logo for the 360:
eh… no shit they will?
Why do they call it a XBox 360? Because you see it, turn 180 degrees, then turn 360 degrees and walk away!
EDIT: Then you turn 720 degrees and open up the fridge, then turn 1022 degrees and sit down at the table and turn the lid on the milk 375 degrees and drink it (comfortably refrigerated at 40 degrees)
no, because it fails 360 days a year
The XBOX 3 will be released as soon as Microsoft is done working on their most important feature.
RRoD II
Thats just legend
Microsoft makes their profit through software sales as being the publisher for series like FORZA, Halo, FABLE, Gears of War.etc as well as selling licencing rights and such. Intellectual property.
And this generation of consoles, I believe, are holding up quite well technologically. Not up to PC standard but they aren’t THAT far behind, remember what they pumped out of the original XBOX before the 360 superseded it… Black, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Farcry: Instincts, DOOM3, Half-Life 2.etc…
looking at them, they certainly don’t seem impressive these days, but considering it was rendered on a 733Mhz Pentium 3, 64mb RAM shared with a GPU equivalent of a midrange GeForce 3 card and DirectX 8.1… and at the time, MINIMUM hardware requirements for equivalent PC games were more than 5 times the raw power of consoles, not counting new hardware tech… and that’s to run it on lowest settings with a barely acceptable framerate…
I think the current generation of consoles still have a lot of life left in them.
360 for example has a tri-core 3.2Ghz GPU, 512mbGDDR3 Ram shared with the GPU equivalent of a GeForce 7 card… You might sneer at those figures compared to your mighty PC setup, but developers have been known to pull seemingly impossible things out of console hardware in the past.
PC hardware power hasn’t been increasing at nearly the same rate now as it was 10 years ago and software has been becoming more efficient while catching up with the deeper capabilities of the hardware that supports it. Make no mistake, PC is the undisputed hardware king, but unless PC hardware takes a MAJOR turn in the next year or two, the current consoles will be able to hold their own for at least another couple of years, and microsoft WILL make another console.
