Will Black Mesa replace Half Life 1 for you?

too green

Turn off the lights

:jizz:

lol.

anyways, yeah. I only had HL on PS2, which I never use anymore so it’ll just be black mesa for me.

hopefully. . .

can’t judge until I’ve played it. But most likely, meh.

It won’t take hl1’s place for me (too nostalgic), but it will be the game that i play when i get the half-life cravings.

In response to the OP: It’s very unlikely I would ever play the original HL again, unless I find myself unemployed for a long period, purely because there’s too much else to do with my limited free time and I’ve already played through it many, many times. That said I expect in a few years I might get an urge to break it out for nostalgia.

If Black Mesa is everything that it appears to be it should breathe enough new life into the awesome game to justify taking the time for a few more play-throughs. So I suppose I would have to say yes, it will replace the original for me, depending of course on how well it recaptures the experience.

for me: Yes, the hl1 of ps2 sucked a lot, yes the models of the npc were more realistic than the PC half-life but: No expansion packs, no cheats like my favourite (thirdperson), difficult controls to change weapons while in fights… and a lot of things more sooo yes black mesa will replace hl1 for me (and the best thing is I will can put combines and rebels (wich will not be really needed having security guards) in black mesa by the npc_create cheat

The PS2 version is good for one thing at least. Those models are nice and easy to rip to PC.

I will play Blackmesa more but nothing beats the original, I mean its a superb game even with the bad graphics, But with new graphics I think it will be one of the best games that i will play

button. :stuck_out_tongue:

You can’t judge a game based on trailers and screenshots. I’ll get back to you on this issue once I’ve played Black Mesa.

[COLOR=‘Red’]Rdjp, please don’t double post. If you have more to add or you wish to correct/change your post, use the ‘edit’ button on it.

Considering them as same… Except for the graphics

Black Mesa= Oow My Gawd!
Half-Life=MASTERPIECE

So you’re ignoring the addition of new puzzles and environments to complement the physics system? Also, the fact that some areas have been completely redesigned?

I think I would play through it once just for the awesomes!!! and then find a way to do a side by side comparison.
As I’ve only had Half-Life for about 9 months I don’t think I know it well enough to notice the differences on my own.

I just don’t think it willreplace HL for me. That’s be like saying my newborndaughter replaced…um…my son, whatshisass? Whatever. Son.

If Black Mesa can run all the old mods, sure! :V

I’d play BM all the time, but It’s good to go back to the classics every once and a while. Nothing can ever totally replace HL for me.
Although I have played HL so many times that when BM finally comes out I’ll certainly be in the mood for a break

It’d be even more worth the download if Adam Foster does a port of Someplace Else to the BM engine…
