They aren’t going to skip Multi player, my friend.
Co-op was canceled, because of the reason that they wanna get Black Mesa done, finally and the only coder who did some work on it, left the team long time ago. Since then, no one did any work for the co-op mode.
It was made by Gearbox and is rather a seperate game, than a co-op mode for HL1.
These two accounts ALWAYS post in the same threads mostly one right after the other. I call shenanigans.
And yes, black mesa will probably repace half life 1 for me as I played half lfie 2 first, so number 1 doesn’t have quite the nostagia effect as it does on other people.
Not sure here. Have to actually play BM first before I can deside. Odds are I will probably keep the orignal HL installed and just play BM for fun. After all BM isnt going to be factually correct in all aspects like HL was and still is. That is just personal preference though.
Yeah it will replace Half-Life for me. Half-Life never meant a whole lot to me personally, though the series in general has definitely had an impact on me.

It will replace HL1 for me… even tho HL1 was an amazing game, the graphics are just far too outdated.
I know this new Black Mesa will replace the half-life 1 that i enjoyed so much when it was first released, that i enjoy playing though the years, but i guess its all ways great to play the old hl1 days, hl1 is showing a lot of its age as its getting older and older. But i will enjoy this mod a lot.
2 hard to say… I really doubt that any mode someday will replace Half Life 1 for me. But anyway, there is always a chance that something like this will happen 
i think BM: S will definitely replace HL1 for me. it’s pretty much the same thing, but new and improved graphics etc. but of course like you said, i’d go back to HL1 every once in a while, to remember all those original headcrab sounds etc.
and hopefully, BM: S will also replace HL2. (for me)
Black Mesa /=/ Half-Life
Half-Life wasn’t all about realism, it was more of a good story, a timeless classic.
It can’t be redone.
Well, maybe my mind will change if and when I play Black Mesa. Let’s hope so.
From screenshots, test videos, etc. Black Mesa looks like a sexier, more realistic version of Half-Life. Let’s hope it stays true to its roots, but from seeing the Alien Grunt…I’m not so sure.

Yep, that’s exactly it. The original concepts and style looked much better in my opinion. The model looks nice and sexy and such, appears to be well done, but it’s not an alien grunt in my book.
