It’s difficult to say if Black Mesa will replace Half Life without getting my dirty mits on it first, going off the screenshots and the footage we’ve seen yeah, but Half Life was truley a great gaming experince so the real question is if Black Mesa can not only look smart but recreate that experince by todays standards

I feel like an old man now, i’m only 17.
It’s sad that kids are like this with video games, they’re taking graphics for granted.
I sound like a complete loser.

I really enjoy playing Quake 1 online and Doom, I play Wolfenstein 3D when i’m bored still. It’s like that video when they got the kid to play Contra, he kept comparing sound and graphics to Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, it was as if those were the only games he had played.

Halo 3 players need to play Halo 1 in my opinion, Halo 1 fans need to know about the Marathon trilogy.

Half-Life 2 players need to have played Half-Life 1 if they can, if they can’t then Black Mesa will be here.
Avid Half-Life fans need to have played Quake1 in my opinion, I’m very much a “Know how your tools work before using them” person, and the transition from Quake to GoldSrc to Source is amazing to me.

I’m just babbling now, need sleep.

I do agree theirs so much more to the game then how it looks, thats why I’m still fond of basic 2D games or the more recent flood of casual games, like Peggle, as much as I love a good story, a game has to have the gameplay to back it up to be considered “good”. Take Gears of War, I played that, yeah it looked incredible but its gameplay was a complete bore

I found mirrors edge,bioshock, doom3 and quake 4 very, very boring.

I can’t believe there are people out there who find TF2 boring though.

Black Mesa I hope will be as high or higher quality as HL2:Ep2, it would never replace the original half-life, but it will replace half-life: Source which i do not own.

Yes, I bought Half Life out of not being able to wait for this awesome mod! I know when it comes out, I will only look back at the original Half Life as a classic, but only play it if I want to see the differences between the two. :slight_smile:
