If you all like Hl 1 still, please add me. I have very few friends who still play it. That game will never leave my mind. After all, It was the first game I ever played. Anyway, I liked HL 1’s story better. Like HL2’s story is becoming more of a bored son of a bitch. I mean, I would to travel with Barney more often and some others. Not just Alex all day. I mean, if anyones read the book you should all know how the story is really suppose to go.

BM will definitely replace HL for me. I can’t tolerate HL outdated graphics anymore even though I’m a guy who normally cares a lot more about gameplay than graphics. What can I say, source engine spoiled me.

For some people, it’ll replace HL1 completely, seeing as how they never played HL1, but for me, it’ll never replace it, it’ll be better, yes, but not totally replacing it

i definitely think so. ive been avoiding hl1, because i dont like to play older games, but i loved hl2, so a revamp of hl1 is very exciting for me.

I played HL1 back when it first came out. I played the source version too.

It holds a special place in my heart as it had that awesome storyline. (dooms was a little convoluted and quakes was worse)

But if BMsource ever comes out and it is as awesome as i hope it will probably replace HL1 as i will start with BMS and move through all the games at about the same graphical detail :slight_smile: :smiley:

Yeah, I’ve played the whole franchise over and over too many times. Basically bleeding for anything new. So Black Mesa will replace HL1 for me and Episode 3 will replace HL2/Ep1/Ep2.

I can 115% promise I’ll play Black Mesa more then Half-Life: Source [The version I possess].

I barreled through Half-Life: Source today and was thoroughly pissed at how non-source it was. VALVe got lazy and it really showed. I appreciate the story of Half-Life and how it all began, but why put up with smoke and mirrors when you can get the real deal? Black Mesa gave me the best Christmas present ever.

The best analogy I can think of being a graphics artist. Is that Half-Life: Source is a PC and Black Mesa is a Mac.

Different interpretation, but I’ll give it to you.

Being a graphics artist, all I use is Mac since it’s more streamline compared to Windows via transferring images between programs and other small things that make it stand out. I whole heartedly agree with the price factor though we all know Black Mesa is a freebee.
