Apparently black mesa is already replacing english grammar for a lot of people…

I don’t know how any of you can say that BM will replace half-life when it’s not even out yet… it’s gonna be awesome, for sure, but I for one won’t know whether I’ll play the original Half-Life ever again until I can actually compare them.

I bought HL about a month ago when it was on sale, and I am currently up to On a Rail. I better get a move on, but after playing through HL I think the only reason I would go back is to have a comparison between HL, HD pack (I will soon buy OF and BS) and BMS

I hope it will. I love half life, but i’ve played it to death over the last decade. i can literally fly thru the whole game in my head.

I’ve been keeping up with this mod development since i heard about it when it was in rumour form (not really a forum posting person but i thought why the heck not)

Will this replace the original Half life for me?, No it wont but…revamp!. Yes, its a damn good Recreation of the series!, all shiney and pumped up!, but it’ll be like seeing a freind you havn’t visited in years, reliving great times, laughing and enjoying the moments you saw and did before in a new case, i cant wait to do that :slight_smile:

While I think Black Mesa will be great, it won’t completely replace the original for me. Half Life is still a damn fine game, even by today’s standards.

Hell no. BMS will be awesome, but I never go to sleep without knowing that all 3 Half Life games are installed in my Steam.

If Black Mesa delivers, which I have no doubt that it will (creaming my pants as I was watching the trailer) then without a doubt it will replace HL1. I haven’t played HL1 in, ooooh, 6 months.

Now, somebody needs to start work on a remake of HL2 using the Crytek 3 engine, or something.

And that’s speaking as someone who played HL1 pretty much 3 weeks after the day of release and HL2 the next day. Of release of HL2, not the next day after 3 weeks of the release of HL1. That’s pretty much impossible. Or is it?
