I feel sorry for you Germans, just like WaW Nazi Zombies, you buy the game thinking ‘oh cool lets do this’ and you find out you cannot join others because your game doesn’t have it.
And I thought my government was a complete failure.
Hey dudes… I have a question:
I want to buy the UK import version (UnCut) of the orange box… so…
When I install this version, what happens with my games/account?
Will I get the games twice… so I have HL2 & Co. 2x in my games list?
Will I get the games and this version replaces my Cutted version?
Or will I get the games, I install it and nothing will happen?
In Austria I had no problem. I wrote an email to steam-support, saying that I live in Austria and bought my Orange Bawcks in Austria.
A day later I got the email that everything should be uncencored now - and it was!
As far as I am aware, HL2 and Episode 1 are the only games where duplicates can be gifted. I don’t think anything will happen with the other duplicates at all, and I doubt this will make any difference to your censorship issues.
I bought a retail copy with both Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 1 in Germany. But still lived in France. So I went back and unlocked it through Steam there. I got the uncensored version. Then I bought the Orange Box through Steam in France. I naturally got it uncensored. Now I’m living in Germany and I still have all my Games uncensored.
It really depends on where you actually unlock it.
Since both myself and Nosehole have just warned you that it probably won’t make any difference, good luck, but if it doesn’t make any difference don’t you dare moan about it here.
any game which you buy from UK or any other country without these censorships we have will be uncut on your german account.
The only game for steam which you’ll never get uncut is saints Row 2
I bought my orange bawcks in Austria - there shouldn’t have been any cencorship.
Steam was set to english ( as always ).
As I mentioned earlier, only emailing the steam support decensored the game for me.
