why the fuck is my monitor pink?????

My friends were using my monitor to connect to an xbox and play halo 3. Everything was fine, but then, when I plugged it back into my computer everything was pink. I’ve tried messing with my monitor settings but it hasn’t helped. What should I do?

Might help if we get a screenshot of it.

Here is what I get when I hit prtscrn, but i don’t think it will look pink on your screen because it’s a problem with the monitor and not the computer. (I think)

That’s not pink. It must be your monitor settings.

Is it a CRT or LCD?

LCD, also, while my friends were using it for the xbox I used a crt screen with my computer which worked fine.

Silly of me to ask but have you make sure your cable is plugged in completely, mine was slightly loose one time and it threw the colors off.

XDDDDD
that fixed it thanks a lot.

glad i could help

Wow you are an idiot.

Specifically, in whichever connector your monitor uses, the pin for the Green signal was not connected, thus leaving only Red and Blue, thus pink.
The only other likely cause would have been someone messing with the monitors’ colour temperature custom settings, tho that usually applies a tint rather than selectively removing one whole channel.

In other words, knowing how stuff works comes in handy when it stops working right.

Yeah I was gonna suggest trying another VGA cable or upgrading to DVI but when I read that it was just badly plugged in I facepalmed bad.

2:00 am is definitely not my best hour.

Well that’s not very nice Daniel! Don’t make me tell you off…

Garth just got RAMNED!

Finally getting these fools in line then?

You’re next Paddy, you’re too trendy and have slept with too many women to be allowed on here anymore. I suggest you cut down on your socializing if you want to stay here.

:’(

By best hour I mean the time when I act the least like a complete fucking moron. :stuck_out_tongue:
