Why does everyone hate CoD :MW 2? What was the biggest problem(s) with the game?
(Note i didnt manage to save up to buy it yet)

Lack of dedicated servers.
Lack of fun.
fix’d
That is the only reason anyone could possibly hate this game. NOTHING. ELSE.
Well the game is pretty good but a lot of people hate it because Infinity Ward ‘abandoned’ the pc community by giving them a badly ported xbox-version of the game. With no dedicated server support. And also a maximum of 18 players per server. With dedicated server there was also the freedom to choose your own game-type and map. There is no such thing with iwnet.
It’s a fun game but it’s hype and respect are overrated.
Because games like Bad Company 2 exist.
I wouldn’t say it was badly ported. The game runs excellent on my mid-range machine on the highest settings at 1920x1080. The menus, controls and feel of the game is excellent. They do know how to make a PC game run extremely well.
IWnet is a whole different matter. I do have to admit that some maps would be absolute hell with more than the 12-18 players. Like Rust or Scrapyard, while some maps like Wasteland and Invasion could use higher player counts. But the reliability of it sucks many a dick. I have a University connection that’s around 20mb/s, a lot higher than what a lot of people have in their homes. IWnet likes to choose me as the host…and I still can’t host a completely reliable game. I do better than many hosts but there are always connection problems.
Why does that matter? So long as the maps were created with the player limit in mind, it’s fine.
I would understand it if the maps were fucking huge and there were only, like, 8 players (or something similar), but that’s not the case.
They killed the modding and competitive gaming community in a split second decision.
I haven’t played the game but the story seems kinda ridiculous.
The Single Player Campeign could be completed in a single school afternoon (i.e. the time you get off the bus to the time you have to go to bed), the story was something like it was written by Michael Bay if he suddenly took up an interest in the Special Forces Chain of Command, Spec Ops is incredibly difficult and for some reason you can only have two players, and let’s not forget the “Herp Derp I nUk3d U!!1!1” 12-year olds who think they’re “S0 g4n5tA!!!” who plague the online multiplayer and have no knowledge of what the word “fair” means.
Mute em’.
ffs
MW2 singleplayer was fun and so is it’s multiplayer, I’m just waiting to get my hands on bad company 2, I think it’ll replace it.
I don’t have it but most people I know seem to think that it was overrated and overpriced. The highest price I saw was £50 (that’s over $75). Alot of them also said that the multiplayer parts were bad and of course you can only do single player so many times.
What do you mean 75$? Lol? The CE or something?
No, that is the RRP for the normal version, but most shops don’t sell it for that much.
Those were my exact thoughts, the Steam price is high enough but £50 was ridiculous. Fallout 3 looks like a complete bargain in comparison.
how the hell could you know that? the game is not out yet! and the demo doesnt count…
Bad Company 2 is so awesome you don’t even have to play it to know it’s awesome.
The servers are terrible, as is the coding for spawn points. Some weapons seem overpowed. The damage is random and constantly unfair. The singleplayer is fun but short, and the story is ridiculous.
