I would’ve said GoldSrc as well, but I just don’t like the slideyness.
[COLOR=‘Black’]Yes, I know that’s not a real word.
I’d have to say the Dark Engine (Thief 1/2 System Shock 1/2 Engine) is the easiest to move around in for me, even though Garrett sometimes acts crippled when climbing and 4 foot high wall
Half-life 2 and Dark Souls
The Sith engine that was used to power Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2.
Platforming felt really good in that game.
I’m so glad someone else recognizes Jedi Knight.
Was just about to say that, I always liked the movement in Jedi Knight. Here’s hoping Disney will do something with the series like they did with Battlefront.
To my knowledge, Jedi Knight is the only (first-person shooter) game where you can take damage by running too fast into a wall.
^ Crysis 1
MAXIMUM SPEED- SPLAT
Like someone else said, Crysis does this. I think you can also do it in Thief if you pick up too much speed by bunny hopping.
I remember in Blockland (which I haven’t played in years) you can not only do that, but some of the maps have windows you can break by flying into them with jets. Or shooting them with a tank.
It’s pretty funny, since it’s a game about lego people.
oh man i remember that game it was like a weird proto minecraft. i think it used some weird version of the tribes engine
Gah. Imagine the “Too fast - take damage” thing in either of Portal’s. I can think about… I think at least a dozen cases where the Advanced Knee Replacement/Long Fall Boots would do you no good, because you fly in a wall face-first.
Obviously source engine games comes to mind. Mirrors Edge felt right after getting used to it. Prototype? not sure about 2, haven’t played it yet.
Or Force-jumping into the ceiling :retard:
