Wheatley High-Poly Model

Yeah I think it looked good too. I’m pretty sure those stops were there to show the progression in the model’s texture.

Looking back, those are some pretty awesome support edges. How did you do that?

Which edges are you referring to exactly?

I mostly use Chamfering and Smoothing to get neat edges.

do you use turbosmooth?

I sure do.

Lies. Ring / loop + connect. :stuck_out_tongue:

Godsdammit, that Aperture D.O.G. as a friendly (or hostile?) NPC would make for some interesting gameplay mechanics.
Overall, outstandig work in this thread, outstanding.

Without a doubt, you have remarkable talent Harry.

It’s been a long time! I decided to revisit my ‘mechanical arm’ and wall textures and came up with this:

More stuff soon.

Harry.

The arm looks a wee bit fat. :stuck_out_tongue:

I just made a quick 360 Render of the Mechanical Arm:

Thanks,

Quick animation test!

Thanks,

Harry

The joint between the plate and the first arm looks kinda off and unsynchronized.

I’ve finally returned to some of these models! I’ve just been cleaning up and improving the ‘gyro’ mechanism inside Wheatley:

Also, I thought it would be appropriate to repost this old render:

Thanks,

Harry

Just found this thread. I can not express, in words, how awesome this is.

Would have loved to use that Wheatly Gman model on my map though…

Quick update on ATLAS and a video that shows a bit of my modelling process!

Thanks,

Are you still doing this? I see that the post started a long time ago but your work is incredible. I’m going about making my own portal pieces in Maya. What program are you using?

Yeah, whenever I can find some spare time.

I use 3DS MAX 9. I’d love to see your work too!

Great models! although the render can be done better to make them more realistic and less 3D. what kind of render software do you use?

I uses 3DS Max 12 student version, mind if I borrow Atlas to animate when you done?
